With the 2024 MLB season heading into All-Star break, the New York Yankees front office would be busy throughout the break period with the trade deadline and MLB draft clashing. The Yankee leadership, including general manager Brian Cashman and owner Hal Steinbrenner, have already gathered at the Tampa facility earlier this week.

Meanwhile, the New York Yankees are expected to make a couple of roster moves at the trade deadline given the team’s rough stretch off lately. However, the front office will also be tasked to secure the future by selecting the right draft picks. Meanwhile, in a recent mock draft, the Yanks were tipped to pick a powerful arm straight from Tennessee.

The New York Yankees have had a history of fostering extraordinary talent in their farm system, and the likes of Aaron Judge, Anthony Volpe and Jasson Dominguez are prime examples of that narrative. The seed of this farm system is sown at the MLB draft, which shapes the future of the franchise in the literal sense. That being said, the 2024 season MLB draft is just around the corner, and the Bronx Bombers are being tipped to go for a Tennessee infielder with an electric arm named Billy Amick. Edward Sutelan of Sporting News picked Amick as the Yank’s third-round pick in a mock draft, and he reasoned that the third baseman’s powerful arm was the key factor behind his selection.

“There are chase concerns, and though he might have to move to first at some point, that power is legit and could fit in well with a thunderous Yankee lineup,” Edward said. Billy Amick, 6-foot-1 and 217 pounds, transferred to Tennessee after two seasons at Clemson. Since then, slashed .306/.387/.639 with 23 home runs, 65 RBI and 29 walks across 65 games and 292 plate appearances. Amick’s scouting report describes him as a quality right-handed swing with a hard-contact approach. Moreover, the infielder’s bat speed and raw power could translate into 20-25 homers per season in the big league ballparks. He is currently the most feared hitter in the SEC. And given Yanks’ composition of an aggressive hitting lineup, Billy Amick is expected to fit perfectly into the set-up. It would be interesting to see how the front office moves forward with Billy Amick.

Yanks Recalls Infield Prospect Amid Growing Struggles!

The New York Yankees announced a roster move ahead of the highly anticipated series against the Baltimore Orioles on Friday. Infield prospect Jorbit Vivas joined the team at Camden Yards as a backup for sick J.D Davis. However, manager Aaron Boone clarified that Vivas’ debut isn’t guaranteed.

“There could be a start for him this weekend, but no guarantees,” Aaron Boone said in a pre-game interview. Notably, the New York Yankees infield is in shambles, with DJ LeMahieu and Gleyber Torres just existing without any performance. Hence, the promotion of a couple of prospects with good potential could be beneficial for the Yanks in the long run.
