CHECKOUT: Yankees Coach Opens Up About Aaron Judge And Juan Soto’s Dynamics

The New York Yankees need the duo of Aaron Judge and Juan Soto to perform at the highest level. These two names are among the best players of modern times. Fans are waiting to see their genuine hitting prowess help the team win games and make the postseason. Moreover, the fans in New York believe this exciting offensive pair can carry the team to the World Series. It has been a long time since the NY side made it to the “Big Dance.” But the fans wonder if the Dominican superstar will don the pinstripe uniform only this year or even for a long time in the future.

Moreover, Juan Soto will be a free agent at the end of the 2024 season. The Yankees Nation wants the Dominican slugger to remain a Yankee for a long time. However, it depends on the negotiations between the front office and Scott Boras, Soto’s agent. So far, it seems the best hitter in baseball is enjoying his first stint with the Bronx Bombers. Apparently, the chemistry between Soto and Judge seems to be great. Now, can they keep up the momentum to help the Yankees win the World Series in 2024?

On Monday, MLB writer of Fox Sports, Deesha Thosar, wrote how Juan Soto “Defers to” fellow outfielder and team captain Aaron Judge so early in the 2024 season. Recently, the third base coach of the New York Yankees, Luis Rojas, told the MLB writer of Fox Sports that Juan Soto likes the team and the city a lot. Moreover, Rojas mentioned, “Soto is liking the clubhouse a lot.” On top of that, the third base coach added that he found some similarities between the young Juan Soto and Aaron Judge when he was young. But Luis Rojas mentioned the Dominican superstar does not want to be that guy. After all, he respects Aaron Judge a lot.

Also, Rojas told Deesha Thosar that he had a few conversations with the new superstar in the team where Soto said, “Whatever he (Aaron Judge) says.” Clearly, the Dominican slugger has immense respect for Judge as the team captain. There were certain rumors that the Dominican superstar could leave the Bronx in free agency to sign with a team like the NY Mets. Perhaps Juan Soto can be the “Guy,” as there’s no player like Judge. But Luis Rojas said they are not losing sleep over that concern at present. Moreover, the third base coach feels Soto can be part of the Yankees for the long term. At least, in his wishlist, Rojas would like to keep him forever.

After the first 10 games for the New York Yankees, Juan Soto posted a batting average of .333 and hit a home run with seven RBIs, with an .873 OPS. Prior to the Marlins game on Monday, the Yankees won eight of the first ten contests. Lately, Yankees teammate Gleyber Torres mentioned it is essential to know every teammate to feel confident. That’s when they play better. About Juan Soto, Torres said that he feels good with everybody. Moreover, Gleyber Torres said he’s very happy for the 25-year-old superstar.

Also, Torres believes Soto is capable of doing great things and can help the team reach its desired destination. Later, in free agency, Soto’s asking price can start from $500 million. Chances are he won’t give the NY side any hometown discount before he becomes a free agent. If the Yankees win the World Series in 2024, Juan Soto can leave a few million bucks on the table to sign a new deal with the iconic franchise.
