The New York Yankees want to keep Juan Soto in the Pinstripes for the rest of his career. But it won’t be an easy deal to seal. The Dominican slugger is going to be the biggest free agent next offseason. He is having a great debut season with the Bronx Bombers. After his days with the Washington Nationals and the San Diego Padres are over, he has been enjoying his fresh start with the Pinstripes. Moreover, a “Generational talent” like the Dominican slugger would always love to represent a team that looks like a champion side.

Very early in his career, Juan Soto had won the World Series with the Washington Nationals. Since then, he only got better. But he could not win the ‘Big Dance’ again with the Nationals and the Padres. However, now, the Yankees are looking good enough to make it to the “Big Dance.” Moreover, the chemistry between Soto and the NY side’s captain, Aaron Judge, has been making a lot of noise. Clearly, they would like to re-sign him next offseason. However, if they lose Soto, then the Bombers can try to land a rival team’s outfielder.

Recently, Zachary D. Rymer predicted a “Way too early landing spots” for the top free agents next offseason. The Bleacher Report writer said that the Yankees can be a nice fit for the division rivals, Baltimore Orioles All-Star outfielder Anthony Santander. Rymer feels Santander is another outfielder whose bat is more appealing than his defensive skills. However, the Bleacher Report analyst suggests that he can have a shot at a “Nine-figure deal” like Nick Castellanos. Comparing Nick with Anthony, Rymer noted that the former was also coming off his age 29 season when he signed “Nine-figure deal.” That’s why Zachary asks, “Why not for Santander?” There are plenty of teams that can get on a market like that. But Rymer predicts that the Washington Nationals could be another contender for Santander.

Other than the Yankees and the Nationals, Rymer feels the Orioles All-Star outfielder can also get offers from the offense-needy suitors like the Seattle Mariners, the Chicago Cubs and so on. He added that the Yankees can turn into another offense-needy team if they lose Juan Soto next free agency. Santander has been great this season as he hit 32 home runs already. The Orioles All-Star outfielder also has 74 RBIs over 105 games. His first All-Star nod came in this season. Hence, he can be a good option for the Bombers if Soto does leave next offseason.

Fans in the Bronx believe at present there’s so much to like about the home team right now. They have always been among the top teams in baseball and they are gradually starting to look like one again. They had been through a slump before the Midsummer Classic. But now, they seem to get over it. Currently, the NY side and the Baltimore Orioles are on the top of the AL East division with the same record.

They are just one win behind the Cleveland Guardians for the best record in the American League. Hence, at present, the Bronx Bombers are in a good place. However, after the season gets over, there will be several questions for the front office, and Juan Soto’s free agency will be the number one question.
