Aaron Judge started the current season with an early slump. It kind of scared the fans in New York a bit. They just did not want the repeat of the 2023 season. Last year was terrible for the NY side. They failed to make the postseason last year for the first time since 2016. Moreover, the record of 82-80 was too hard a pill to swallow for the fans and the team. It was their worst season in the last 30 years. On top of that, they had the second-worst batting average in the league behind the nine-time World Series champions, the Oakland Athletics. It was mainly because of the absence of the captain for a lot of games.

Aaron Judge had a terrible accident at the Los Angeles Dodgers fence that resulted in a torn ligament in his toe. Owing to that injury, he had to miss 35 games in a row. That was a big blow to the team’s offense. Later, in spring training this year, he had an abs injury that made him miss several games. That’s why the slow start to the season scared the Yankees Faithful. However, the team was doing well from the start despite the captain’s early season slump. But since May, Aaron Judge has turned things around. He is lately looking like the 2022 AL MVP type again.

In the history of the American League, there has been only one name who was able to break his own single season homer record. The name of that legend was none other than Babe Ruth. But the way the Yankees captain turned things around this season, it might not be that impossible for him to break his own homer record. Aaron Judge won the American League MVP in 2022 because he broke the AL regular season home run record. He hit 62 home runs in 2022 surpassing Roger Maris who had 61 in a single season. After two months in 2024, the Yankees captain has already hit 21 home runs.

There is still a long way to go this season and the way the Yankees are performing, there seems to be no flaws. Moreover, Judge’s redemption is what making the fans in the Bronx even happier. At this point in 2022, Aaron Judge had 25 home runs in his bag. This year, he has 21. If he is able to play 162 of 162 games, he can very well hit beyond 55 home runs this season. He is on the pace for “Only” 55 homers. Moreover, his fitness is always a reason to worry. However, the good news for the Yankees Nation is the fact that Judge is “Hot, very hot right now.”

Yankees Manager Says, “Aaron’s In Such A Good Place”

Currently, the Yankees captain has been at his hottest point since he was last two years ago. In 2022, Judge took until July and August to hit home runs 15 times in a span of 25 games. On the other hand, in the ongoing season, Aaron hit 15 homers between May 5 and June 1. It is quite unbelievable to think that it took him seven games to hit his first homer this season.

Lately, Aaron Boone mentioned that Judge is in a very good place at the moment. Moreover, Boone said the difference between Judge and other guys is that when they are on a hot streak, they rack up some hits, hitting it off the barrel. But when Aaron Judge gets on a hot streak, hitting it off the barrel, he sends it to the seats. Hence, Boone believes, “It is just fun to watch when he gets going.”
