The New York Yankees had a lot to figure out this offseason. Last season was terrible for the 27-time champions. They could not sit idle in the offseason after failing to qualify for the postseason in 2023. Anyway, the Yankees faced some disappointments as well this offseason. They could not land Yoshinobu Yamamoto even though they were the frontrunners. Now, the bullpen of the Yankees starting to look worse.

They need a starting pitcher, and perhaps Josh Hader of the San Diego Padres is a viable option for them. Anyway, not just hitters and pitchers, there are some other specific departments that are bothering the Pinstripes at present. Lately, the NY side lost their super utility player by the name of Isiah Kiner-Falefa. The Toronto Blue Jays got the utility player of the Bronx. Now, who’s going to take his place?

Cabrera had a great season in 2022. Fans had high hopes for Oswaldo in 2023. But he didn’t live up to the expectations. However, his performance got better at the end of the season for the Yankees. But the question remains if that’s enough for Cabrera to be the new super-utility player. Perhaps the Yankees may even use Oswaldo as a trading chip, as they need depth in their pitching at present. Oswaldo Cabrera had a great impact on the team in 2022. And it would be justifying to say that he was a major factor in the Yankees reaching the ALCS. But 2023 saw things turning all south for him. Albeit, he came back stronger as a trustworthy utility player.

However, his performance could never be as high as in 2022. Hence, what’s the NY side thinking to do with him? After Trent Grisham joined the Yankees, things got tougher for Cabrera. There’s an intense competition between Cabrera and Oswald Peraze for the super-utility position. Grisham will be there to maintain depth in the outfield. Peraza will be the top utility player in the infield. Hence, there’s a chance that Cabrera will drop to the lineup of the Triple-A leagues. The competition doesn’t look good for the 24-year-old Oswaldo Cabrera.

There were all sorts of troubles the NY side had to face over the last couple of seasons. This year, though, the Bronx Bombers had plenty of names on the Injured List. Some were very key players whose absence cost the team heavily last season. On top of that, the batting average was bothering the NY side a lot. Anyway, the Yankees managed to land Juan Soto to boost their offense. Moreover, the activities that the Bronx Bombers have been doing this offseason have helped them to have a pretty good outfield.

It looks promising, and the Yankees Nation is eagerly waiting. Not just the fans but also the manager, Aaron Boone, feels the current outfielder’s lineup raises hopes for the team. Moreover, the NY side had a bunch of coaching and managerial changes as well. The owner, Hal Steinbrenner, mentioned early in the offseason that they would make significant changes in the personnel and some outside their personnel.
