The Los Angeles Lakers had a shaky start to the current season. They expected a much better start as they had a wonderful off-season. Albeit Anthony Davis returned from injury after resting for one game, he was not at his best against the Sacramento Kings. Moreover, the Kings took advantage of AD’s poor form and blew the Lakers apart. It was the sixth loss this regular season for Darvin Ham’s side. Ever since that loss against the Kings, as per Jovan Buha of The Athletics, the Lakers are looking for a deal with the Chicago Bulls.
Moreover, Darvin Ham’s side would like to add a star player like Zach LaVine, who can help the Lakers with his three-pointers. But if they don’t get LaVine, then the LA side would like to sign Alex Caruso or DeMar DeRozan. Anyway, a significant trade deal can happen between the Bulls and the Lakers soon. Moreover, the Bulls are seemingly keen on trading LaVine, as he’s not at the peak of his game anymore. Additionally, there is a rumor that LaVine’s top choice if a trade happens is the LA Lakers, along with the Miami Heat and the Philadelphia 76ers.
Why Bulls Will Be Happy To Trade LaVine?
Moreover, Zach LaVine is 28, and he missed back-to-back All-Star appearances. On top of that, he will be under the control of his club for another two or three years, even after the current season ends. In short, Zach LaVine is the exact option for the Bulls, who’s a liability for trade. Moreover, the Bulls are looking for redemption as they had an even more terrible start to this season than the Lakers. Currently, the Bulls are 4-8. Albeit there is a lot of speculation about LaVine’s future, the Bulls guard has some favorite destinations.
On Friday noon, Jake Fischer of Yahoo! Sports reported that LaVine might like to sign with the LA Lakers. Moreover, Zach has a special connection with Los Angeles as he played college basketball for UCLA. But the Heat and the 76ers might interest him as well, as per Fischer. Everybody knows that the Heat is looking for a third star. On the other hand, the 76ers had a great start to the current season. Currently, the 76ers are 8-3. Moreover, Fischer wrote that the San Antonio Spurs and Sacramento Kings can also interest Zach LaVine.
Lakers Need Backup ASAP As They Wouldn’t Like To Put Too Much Stress On AD
During the offseason and later in the training camp, the LA side looked like a top contender for the title this season. However, since the preseason, the so-called balance and depth of the roster had to face the serious test of time. Moreover, injuries kept bothering the 17-time champions, and key players like Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura were not performing up to the expectations.
Later, Anthony Davis sustained an injury and missed a game. The biggest fear of the Lakers is missing AD for twenty games on the trot with certain injuries like last season. No sane individual or team would like to repeat their past mistakes. Neither does the LA Lakers in the case of Anthony Davis.
