“Perhaps Not As Mature As Others,” Phillip Brandle’s Shocking ‘Hamilton Assessment

In an interview with Motorsport-Total, Phillip Brändle discussed the distinct characteristics of Formula 1 drivers Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, and George Russell. Brändle highlighted that while Hamilton possesses an exceptional feel for the car, he may not utilize data and technology as effectively as Rosberg or Russell.

According to Brändle, Hamilton’s ability to sense even the slightest changes in the car’s behavior, similar to the legendary Michael Schumacher, sets him apart. He explained that Hamilton can detect issues like a loose screw at high speeds, showcasing his unparalleled connection with the vehicle. This innate sense allows Hamilton to excel, even if he doesn’t rely as heavily on the technological tools available to modern drivers. However, it was more of a compliment for the Briton as he can assess the configuration of any car without much effort. Further, he doesn’t need any technology or data to get the best setup for the weekend races. This is among the many reasons that make Hamilton a legendary motorsport racer.
