Max Verstappen has been an indomitable force of nature in the last few seasons. There is no doubt about the love the Dutchman has for winning races. Ever since he joined F1 Motorsport, he proved that he could be faster than a lot of drivers on the grid. He always had a love for speed. But in his initial days at Red Bull, he didn’t have the car to compete against Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes. However, since 2021, he had the car he wanted and made full use of the opportunity.
He broke Hamilton’s streak and won his maiden Driver’s World Championship. Since 2021, the Dutchman has won 39 races so far. There are still five more races to go in 2023. Clearly, Max will plenty more GP races in his career. But what does he think about his potential future? Recently, Max Verstappen mentioned he would like to follow in the footsteps of legendary MotoGP racer Valentino Rossi in racing with GT cars.
Why Does Max Want To Emulate Rossi?
Like Rossi, Max would also like to race in the GT World Challenge at the final stage of his career. Moreover, Max told Gazzetta Dello Sport, an Italian Outlet, that working with GT cars is an avenue that he thinks would be pretty interesting in the latter stages of his career. Adding to that, Verstappen said why he would like to emulate Rossi. Max Verstappen mentioned that Valentino had a crazy career in MotoGP, and then he moved to GT cars and is still working so hard. Rossi is still eager to win with GT cars.
Max likes to see the races of Rossi in the GT World Challenge. Moreover, Max said they had their own car entered in the GT World Challenge. That’s why he has a bigger interest in the GT competition. Moreover, Max Verstappen said in his potential future, he would race longer for sure, but not in any Grand Prix race. Currently, Verstappen’s contract with Red Bull still has six more years to go. At the end of the contract, he’ll still be only 31. Hence, he still can race for many more years to come.
Max Verstappen Can Break Every Record In F1 If Red Bull Keeps Delivering The Fastest Cars
As long as Red Bull keeps delivering the fastest car, it would be very hard to beat Max Verstappen. He might even go on to break Lewis Hamilton’s record for most Grand Prix wins in F1’s history. Moreover, Max Verstappen has currently joined the elite group of three-time champions in F1. This elite group has the names of champions like Ayrton Senna, Jackie Stewart, and so on. But it might not take Verstappen more than another year to jump on to the elite group of four-time champions.
For instance, the group of Sebastian Vettel and Alain Prost. Last year, Max broke Vettel’s and Michael Schumacher’s record of most wins in a season. They had 13 wins each in a season. But Max won 15 last year. He already has won 14 this year, with five more remaining. Hence, Max Verstappen can quite easily break his own record. Moreover, the fact is that he is just 26 years old. He still has a lot of years remaining in F1 Motorsport.
