The New York Yankees scheduled to play their first spring training game on February 24 against the Detroit Tigers. They will hope to start their spring training on a positive note. Moreover, the players are hoping to have a great season this year. There are certainly some new names on the roster who were not there in 2023. But the players wearing the Pinstripes uniform who had to go through the failure of last season must be looking for redemption. None so more than Aaron Judge. The 2022 AL MVP was hoping to have a great season last year until he hurt his toe during a freak accident at the Los Angeles Dodgers fence. Later, Aaron Judge had to miss out on 35 games on the trot. That really cost the Yankees heavily.

Eventually, the Bronx Bombers did not make the postseason. They finished with an awful 82-80 record. But the front office made some significant changes this offseason. After adding Juan Soto in the same batting order as Aaron Judge, the Yankees can finally again think about contending for the title. Moreover, the captain of the NY side has been busy preparing hard for the upcoming spring training. Lately, he took a break from training in Tampa to speak with the former hitting coach, Sean Casey, while appearing on “The Mayor’s Office.” He shared a funny conversation he had with Anthony Rizzo.

During the interview with “The Mayor’s Office,” Aaron Judge shared some behind-the-scenes moments from the RF training. He also shared the hilarious exchange he had with his team’s infielder. There was a fun moment during the training when Anthony Rizzo and Judge switched positions. Later, the infielder joked about it, saying that playing outfield is easier than doing the dirty work of the infielder. Moreover, Rizzo also noted that outfielders can interact with the fans during the games.

To Rizzo’s argument of outfielders only “Play around out here,” Aaron Judge mentioned, “Why don’t you just wait until Yordan Alvarez hit a line drive at 110 mph?” Clearly, Judge defended the role of the outfielders well enough using the example of the Houston Astros star. He has been playing for the NY Yankees for eight years already. It has been a really long time. In December 2022, the Yankees’ 16th captain signed a nine-year extension worth $360 million. He will be 32 years old. But the fans believe in the 2022 AL MVP.

The NY side’s captain has been a Silver Slugger on three occasions and named All-Star on five different occasions. Clearly, he is the most valuable player of the Yankees. If he hadn’t hurt himself last year, things could have been different. But in 2024, the team looks more solid in their outfield.

Especially after signing Juan Soto for a year. However, the Yankees Faithful would want Aaron Judge to hit more home runs than he did in 2022. But most of all, lead the side to the postseason. And if things go right, then Aaron Judge can be the leader to end the World Series drought since 2009. That’s what the fans in New York want.
