Stephen Curry has done a lot of wonderful things in the NBA for over a decade now. He has enthralled the fans with his magical plays. But most importantly, the skinny kid from Akron, Ohio, has revolutionized the sport with his three-point shooting. He made that shot an invaluable weapon for every basketball team. To win clutch moments, teams and players started to rely on that shot. That’s a significant contribution Steph Curry made to the game as a point guard. But he was not alone though, in revolutionizing the three-point shots. Stephen Curry had a partner in crime in his Splash Brother, Klay Thompson.

These Splash Brothers have had a huge impact on the game of basketball. But most importantly, they helped build a modern-day Dynasty. The Splash Brothers, along with the power forward Draymond Green and head coach Steve Kerr, went on to win four NBA titles in a span of eight years. They made the Golden State Warriors a powerhouse in the NBA. However, there was the 2016 season that ended in disappointment for the Dubs. Albeit, in 2016, the Dubs broke the 1996 Chicago Bull’s record in the regular season. On the other hand, Stephen Curry got the unanimous vote for that season’s MVP.

In the 2015-16 season, Steph scored a lot from the three-point range. As a result, everybody with a ballot agreed that the Warriors talisman should win the Most Valuable Player award. It has never happened before in the history of the NBA that a player got the unanimous vote for MVP. But Stephen Curry was just too good that season. It had to be him. He led the GSW to their best-ever regular season record. They broke the Chicago Bulls record of 72 wins in 1996. Moreover, the Dubs finished the 2015-16 regular season with a 73-9 record. Hence, on May 10, 2016, the NBA announced that Stephen Curry was their first-ever unanimous MVP. During that season, Steph was averaging an incredible 30.1 points per game.

Previously, Curry held the record for most three-pointers in one NBA season with 286. However, in 2015-16, he broke his own record as he got 402 three-pointers. Stephen Curry proved time and again that he is the greatest shooter in the NBA. There have been very few players who have won back-to-back MVPs. Steph is one of them. When he won his first MVP, he helped the Warriors end a 40-year-long wait to win an NBA Championship. But his second MVP did not come with another title for the Dubs. LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers spoiled their fun as the Cavs won the 2016 title.

Stephen Curry led the Warriors to win three titles between 2015 and 2018, meeting the Cavaliers in the NBA Finals four years in a row. Later, in 2022, without Kevin Durant, Steph led the Dubs to win again. But the fact is KD wasn’t part of the GSW in 2015 and 2016 either.

However, coming to the present day, it seems the sun has set for the careers of Durant, James and Curry. None of their teams made it to the conference semi-finals. Moreover, the Dubs had a very tough season in the current one. Klay Thompson and Draymond Green were huge disappointments. Hence, the Dub Nation worries if the Dynasty is “Finished.”
