Steph Curry and Lebron James 1 2024

Stephen Curry & LeBron James have been the face of the NBA in the last decade or more. They have been arch-rivals for a long time. Moreover, the rivalry between the Steph-led Golden State Warriors and the LBJ-led Cleveland Cavaliers is legendary. From 2015 to 2018, these two teams met in back-to-back NBA Finals. The Dubs won on three of those four occasions. However, the Cavs did ruin the Dub’s party back in 2016 when the GSW could become the greatest NBA team ever. In the regular season, the Warriors had a 73-9 record in the 2015-2016 edition. They broke the regular season record of the 1996 Chicago Bulls, who had a 72-10 record.

Moreover, they were on the verge of a historic season win in 2016. However, LeBron James led the Cavs to an epic comeback from a 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals. Hence, it was a big loss for the Warriors against the LBJ-led Cavs in 2016. Coming to 2024, both these legends – Stephen Curry and LeBron James- have won four NBA titles each. Who knows if they will win NBA Championships again? But right now, they are just enjoying the experience of playing alongside each other, representing Team USA in the Paris Olympics.

Recently, in an interview, as per Legion Hoops, the greatest shooter in the league heaped praise on his old rival. Curry said via Today Show that LeBron James was the shining star of basketball’s future even before he could start high school. Then, Steph added that James raised the level of the NBA and is still continuing to do so. Moreover, the Warriors talisman mentioned, “LBJ is the ultimate champion.” So far, in their NBA career, both these legends have won the same number of titles. It is hard to predict if they will be able to win another championship. At present, the Warriors might look like a team that’s falling apart, and the Los Angeles Lakers are not looking like a championship-winning team despite the presence of the LBJ-AD duo.

However, Anthony Davis and LeBron James helped the Lakers win the 2020 NBA (Bubble) championship. Last year, they won the inaugural in-season tournament as well. Now, both these Lakers stars have joined Stephen Curry with one goal, i.e., to win an Olympic Gold in Paris. It will be Curry’s first-ever Olympic appearance and also might be the last time. He would like to end his career knowing that he won an Olympic Gold. LeBron James has won multiple Gold medals in the Summer Games.

Stephen Curry has won every award a point guard can win in the NBA. He was an unanimous MVP and has won that award twice. Moreover, he is a four-time champion. He has built a modern-day dynasty with the Golden State Warriors. Moreover, he is the leader of the most points scored from the three-point range in the league’s history. Also, he is a ten-time NBA All-Star. After achieving so much in the NBA, he still has not appeared in the Summer Games representing Team USA.

His contemporaries like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and even teammates like Draymond Green and (former) teammate Klay Thompson have all won the Olympic Gold medal. This time, it is a big chance for Steph Curry to fill that void in his trophy cabinet.
