Stephen Curry has been one of the modern-day greats in the NBA. So far, in his illustrious career, he has played for just one NBA team, unlike his rival turned friend, LeBron James. Both of these greats come from Akron, Ohio. They have one more thing in common, which is they have won four NBA Championships so far. But LBJ has played for three different teams – the Cleveland Cavaliers, then, the Miami Heat, and the Los Angeles Lakers. The all-time leading scorer has won a title with each of these three teams.

But Stephen Curry has managed to build a modern-day dynasty with the Golden State Warriors. Even then, experts don’t see him as one of the GOAT candidates. LeBron James is right up there with Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant as GOAT candidates. However, LBJ has not been able to build a dynasty like Kobe, MJ, and Steph have been able to do. But what will it take Curry to get himself into the “Greatest Of All Time” conversation?

In 2024, NBA fans saw their dream come true when Steph and LBJ teamed up to win a competition. And it’s no ordinary event, but arguably the greatest sporting event in the world. James had won a couple of Olympic Gold medals alongside Kobe Bryant for Team USA. But Curry had never participated in the Summer Games before. Anyway, the long wait came to an end this year as Stephen Curry made his debut in the Olympics and finished the season with a Gold medal alongside LeBron James. Now, James has three Olympic gold medals, along with four NBA Championships. On the other hand, Steph has one Gold medal from the Summer Games and four NBA Championships as well. Lately, a former point guard, Jeff Teague, said in the latest episode of the ‘Club 520’ podcast that Curry needs to win one more ring to get himself into the Top 5 best players of all time.

Moreover, Teague added that Steph’s the best point guard of all time. Hence, he must be in the mix. Also, Teague feels that not many people are better than Curry. Then, he proceeded to say, “If Stephen Curry gets another ring, he will definitely go up there alongside Kobe Bryant.” The Los Angeles Lakers legend won five NBA championships. Adding to that, Bryant has also won a couple of Olympic Gold medals. Anyway, Stephen Curry proved his mettle in the semi-finals (Against Serbia) and the finals (Against France) of the 2024 Paris Olympics. Who knows if he can participate in the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Games?

A month ago in Las Vegas, during Team USA’s prep camp, Stephen Curry said in an interview with Yahoo! Sports that he wants to be “Warrior For Life.” Adding to that, Steph noted that it has always been his goal. But he seemed aware of the fact that it was easy for him to say back then, sitting in a chair in Las Vegas, getting ready for Paris.

However, the greatest shooter of the game mentioned that life especially in the NBA is a “Wild environment.” Hence, things can change pretty quickly. Moreover, he said in another interview that he doesn’t want to be part of a “Bottom feeder” at the end of his career. He wants to win more rings before he retires eventually.
