The New York Yankees have been in the market this winter with one sole purpose. They wanted to redeem themselves after an awful 2023 season. It could have been better if the captain had not missed over 36 games in a row due to a toe injury after a freak accident. Aaron Judge was the only superstar available in the NY side’s roster in the last few seasons. When he missed all those games over two months, the team lost momentum and was on the brink of missing out on the postseason. Even when Judge returned, it was too late for any miracle to happen.

The Yankees finished with an 82-80 record, missing the postseason for the first time since 2016. Hence, the front office planned to bring all the reinforcements they needed to make the roster the strongest in the American League. They have had a pretty satisfying winter so far. Moreover, the biggest purchase for the Yankees this season was certainly Juan Soto. Anyway, the outfield looks pretty solid at this point. The pitching does not look bad, either. But the bullpen can use more depth for sure. Recently, Brian Cashman gave a hint about their next moves this offseason.

Recently, Brian Cashman told the media, including The Athletic, that the Yankees in general are happy with what they’ve got so far. But that does not mean that the NY side won’t try to add depth to their rotation. Moreover, the Yankees GM was too close to say the club wasn’t looking to make any further offseason move after signing Marcus Stroman for a two-year deal. Anyway, Brian Cashman told the media that the roster is going to be a constant evolution. They may have a strong team in Cashman’s opinion, but they will look to improve whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Moreover, the Yankees are taking into account the 2023 experience, as Cashman said they don’t want to lay back on the hope that everything will go right for them this season. Moreover, the GM said they will look and tinker if there’s a chance. Nonetheless, they like what they have at the same time. Cashman was pretty vague when he said if some opportunities make enough sense, then there’s a possibility for a next move. Currently, the Bronx Bombers have a pretty good rotation with a little bit of concern. If health issues don’t create trouble like last year, the starting pitchers can be a force to reckon with.

The Yankees GM said he doesn’t want to characterize any specific aspect of the rotation that needs reinforcement. He believes the roster is better than last year. Moreover, Jon Heyman of The New York Post reported that the Yankees offered Blake Snell a six-year deal worth $150 million.

However, it seems Scott Boras, agent of Snell, wants to hold out until the pitcher gets what he wants. Anyway, the offer from the Yankees proves that they have a serious interest in landing Snell. But Brian Cashman just said vaguely that the team is looking to improve in all areas.
