On one fine afternoon in August 2016, a new kid on the block named Aaron Judge made his major league debut. However, little did anyone know that the rookie was destined for greatness. Regardless, Judge showcased a short glimpse of his elite talent in his first even major league at-bat itself. Judge made his debut against Tampa Bay Rays in 2016, and in his first-ever at-bat, the slugger stormed a gigantic home run off Matt Andriese. The sound of the long hit echoed around the Yankee stadium as fans were up on their feet, completely in awe of the rookie. As Judge rounded the bases to claim his first-ever home run, the Yankee franchise was completely unaware of his capabilities.

Having said that, Aaron Judge’s rookie season in 2016 turned out to be extraordinary, with the outfielder earning the American League Rookie of the Year award. His debut home run served as a precursor to a season filled with remarkable accomplishments and record-breaking moments. From then, the slugger never looked back and went on to achieve remarkable things in the future. He scripted an all-time high home runs record, secured the AL-MVP title, and also earned the captaincy badge of the esteemed franchise. Now, the only thing left for Aaron Judge to achieve is the World Series title. Regardless of what happens in the next eight years, one thing is certain: Judge will go down as one of the franchise’s greatest warriors, and his achievements will be remembered for several generations to come.

The 2023 season wasn’t kind to Aaron Judge, as he missed close to eight weeks due to a toe injury. As a result, his team, the New York Yankees, fell off the postseason bandwagon. Regardless, in 2024, the franchise, as well as Judge, intends to make a difference.

Aaron Judge, in particular, is having a healthy off-season, and if all goes well, the slugger remains a perennial contender for AL-MVP. As per early projections, Judge stands a real chance at making a good run for MVP whilst replicating a 2022 season home run record simultaneously. Of course, these targets are achievable only if the New York Yankees captain manages to stay healthy.
