Lewis Hamilton Expresses Love For Hungary Ahead Of Weekend Race

After being at the trough of the waves, the seven-time world champion has rediscovered his mojo. Lewis Hamilton is entering the Hungarian GP with a lot of confidence and passion. The Briton is focused on securing a third consecutive victory for Mercedes, aiming to extend his Hungary win count to nine. Although the forecasted intense heat on the race day could hinder Mercedes’s victory run, Hamilton remains determined. The Mercedes starlet has shared his emotions after an emphatic victory as the F1 convoy reaches Hungarian offshores. The Briton has some sweet memories etched in the Hunagroring circuit, as he won three times in 2007, 09, & 12 during his McLaren days. After switching to Mercedes, he continued his victorious run in the ‘Monaco without wall’ circuit, winning in 2013, 2016, 2018, and 2020.

Thus, Hamilton has an opportunity to extend his Hungary dream, as he can score his 200th podium. During a media interaction, Hamilton claimed he loves Hungary and looks forward to racing there. Further, he expressed his excitement, saying he ‘can’t wait’ to race since the car has started to perform really well. However, Max Verstappen could jeopardize his dream, as the Dutchman aims for a hat-trick in Hungary after winning there in 2022 and 2023. Moreover, the temperature could reach the 30-degree mark, making the track temperature touch the fifties. As a result, it could hinder the W15’s performance, which works well in lower temperatures.

As the Formula Championship stands at the midpoint, the race for the title is still open. Although Red Bull is leading significantly, a couple of turnarounds could change the entire scenario. RBR team chief Christian Horner expects a tough fight in Hungary as the rivals will come close to the RB20.

Further, his Mercedes counterpart, Toto Wolff, acknowledges his team’s momentum and is optimistic. Although he accepts the unique nature of Hungary’s circuit compared to the last two races, Wolff is hopeful for a favorable outcome.
