The New York Yankees made a bold move when they shifted focus to 2024, thus closing curtains on the 2023 season playoff dreams. Further, the foundation of the 2024 season was laid a couple of weeks ago when the team launched a youth movement. Thriving prospects such as Everson Pereira, Oswald Peraza, Jasson Dominguez, and Austin Wells were transported to the big leagues.

However, the Yankees couldn’t have fathomed the impact these kids were going to have in just a short span, especially Jasson Dominguez. The 20-year-old kid lived up to the hype by recording a hot streak in just five games. However, the Martian still lacks enough experience. But a baseball analyst seems ready to overlook everything to bet on the rookie.

MLB Analyst Believes Jasson Dominguez Is Much More Than What His Minor League Numbers Suggest

Jasson Dominguez fast-tracked his way into the major leagues. After receiving a promotion to Triple-A earlier this season, the prospect made it to the Bronx in just over a month. That raised doubt among a lot of fans as they wondered if the kid was actually ready to become a big leaguer. However, Dominguez shut down all doubters. In his first five games, he slammed three home runs, including one at Yankee Stadium. Not only that, the Martian scripted franchise history by becoming the only second Yankee player to do so. Amid this hot streak, a baseball analyst named Eno Sarris has placed his bet on Jasson.

While speaking on a podcast, Sarris suggested that Jasson Dominguez seems better than what his minor league numbers indicate. The 20-year-old has played only nine games in Scranton after featuring in 109 games in Somerset. His combined average stands at .265 with .802 OPS. Eno opined that Dominguez would be extremely successful in the Yankees due to the dynamics of the Yankee stadium. The iconic Yankee stadium is indeed hitter-friendly and will suit a switch hitter like the Martian. The outfielder’s recently launched 110.2-mph missile is a perfect testament to the kid’s prodigious power. Sarris even labeled Dominguez as the future of the Yanks. “He could be the starting center fielder next year and hit .250-.260 with 20-25 homers and 30-35 steals,” concluded Eno Sarris.

Yankees Hal Steinbrenner Deserves Credit For Youth Influx

New York Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner made a bold move when he launched a youth movement against internal resistance. But it turned out to be the best decision the ownership has taken in recent history. While Jasson Dominguez is soaring his offensive numbers, catcher Austin Wells has received high praise from the pitchers. The induction of fresh youth energy embarked on a rare winning streak for the Yanks.

The New York Yankees have won three consecutive series since the prospects came in, including a five-game winning streak. While the recent resurgence will play too little part in the ongoing playoff push, it is a perfect first step towards the 2024 season campaign. A large chunk of this set will make it to the regular lineup next year.
