In the ongoing battle, the McLaren team has clinched more podiums (15) than Red Bull (14). As a result, the gap on the Constructors’ leaderboard stands at just eight points, a margin the British squad is poised to close in no time. The credit for such a remarkable performance goes to the engineers and squad drivers. However, a Red Bull racer is inadvertently helping the Woking squad in its World Championship endeavors. The RBR starlet Max Verstappen is putting everything on the line to defend his WDC title. On the other hand, his teammate Sergio Pere is grappling with a slump. Although a limping RB20 is the common ground, Verstappen still manages to squeeze more points than Checo. Further, since his retention, the Mexcian racer has failed to make an impact.

Therefore, the McLaren spearhead believes it to be a positive sign. It gives the British squad an upper hand in the World Title run. Moreover, Stella said McLaren has more cars, which can take away points from Red Bull. He indicated that Norris and Piastri consistently scored points while Checo struggled to finish in the top spots. However, Stella emphasized the need to maximize the output from the MCL38, which will soon receive more upgrades. To top it off, Norris and Piastri are in fine form. While the Briton is challenging Verstappen for the WDC, Piastri plays his part well. Ultimately, the McLaren squad is geared to take down the once-dominant Bulls. Therefore, the Austrian outfit must rethink its approach if the team wants to defend its world titles.
