Max Verstappen denied Lewis Hamilton the 2021 Driver’s World Championship in an epic showdown. Clearly, the 2021 F1 season has been one of the most thrilling and exciting seasons in recent times. However, for the last two years, there has been an undeniable champion who did not face much competition. And that’s none other than the Dutch driver. The Red Bull star went on to win a couple more titles, joining the elite list of three-time F1 champions, including Ayrton Senna and Jackie Stewart. Moreover, the way things stand, it looks like the Dutchman will win the upcoming season as well.

Then he would join the former Red Bull champion Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari legend Alain Prost. However, the fans wonder if Max Verstappen can get to the summit of the sport. Can he break the record of Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher? The 39-year-old Mercedes star is the only driver in the sport to win over 100 GPs. On the other hand, the Dutch driver is now third on the all-time list of most Grand Prix wins. Max is right behind the great Schumacher. But can he win seven titles or more?

Recently, in an interview with The Times, Max Verstappen mentioned it would take some fortune to favor if he has to go past the seven-title mark. He mentioned, “If that happens, it happens.” Moreover, the Dutch driver also said that he must be lucky to have a great car for a longer period of time. He revealed the truth that drivers depend a lot on the material they have. Max Verstappen said that he had the dream to win at least one championship. He even said after winning the 2021 title that everything that comes next is a bonus. The Red Bull star noted that he has achieved everything he always wanted with his maiden title.

Getting to the podium, pole positions, and a title were the goals he wanted to achieve. But from here on, Max says he’ll just try to stay on top. Moreover, Max Verstappen often contemplated his future in other forms of racing. He says that he also has other interests, like GT Racing. Despite breaking several records in F1 with his tremendous consistency, Max Verstappen generally stays indifferent to all those stats. Moreover, Max’s contract with Red Bull will expire in 2028. Only time will tell if the Austrian outfit can keep providing him with superior cars for these years. Then, he can surely get to his eighth title by 2028.

In The Past Two Years, Red Bull And The Dutchman Have Been Unstoppable

The Austrian outfit has won 38 races since 2022. Among these wins, Max Verstappen has himself won 34 GPs. He broke Schumacher and Vettel’s record of 13 wins in a season when he won 15 GPs in 2022. Later, Red Bull provided him with an even faster and superior car. As a result, in 2023, the Dutch driver finished with 19 GP wins.

It clearly shows how relentless and competitive the current triple-time champion is. He just loves winning races, nothing brings him more joy. Moreover, Verstappen also showed his love for sim racing. He is also one of the best at that level of racing in the world. Last year, Verstappen participated in the Le Mans Virtual Sim Race. He is really a nerd about racing.
