Max Verstappen and Christian Horner have known each other for a long time. They have helped the Red Bull Racing team to get back on top of the grid once again. After the era of Horner and Sebastian Vettel, the Austrian outfit had to wait for eight years to see themselves on top. It was because, in the turbo-hybrid era, their rival, Mercedes, was the most dominant team. Finally, in 2021, the Dutch driver was able to break the streak of the dominance of the German team. Albeit Mercedes won the constructor title in 2021 as well, the Driver’s championship was not Lewis Hamilton’s anymore. Since 2021, Max Verstappen has won every driver’s World Championship so far.

Even in 2024, Red Bull and Max look to maintain their dominance. Like Mercedes dominated the whole turbo-hybrid era, Red Bull would prefer to rule during the whole cost-cap era. However, things have not been great for the Austrian outfit outside the track. The allegations against Christian Horner for misconduct have overshadowed the expectations of the Red Bull 2024 challenger. That’s not a great start to the season for the reigning champions. But Max Verstappen says Horner is still trying to focus as much as he can on the car and the performance.

On Friday, The FIA President met with Horner. Besides Muhammed Ben Sulayem, the F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali was also present in the meeting. And there’s a good possibility that the FIA can give disrepute charges to Horner. Things have not been going Horner’s way. On Thursday, an anonymous source sent an email to the F1 CEO, the FIA President, and nine other team bosses. This email contained files with alleged WhatsApp conversations between the Red Bull team principal and the complainant. Even some members of F1 media received the same files. This whole situation is overshadowing the Opening race weekend in Bahrain.

On Friday, Max Verstappen secured another pole position. But Horner’s case has been causing too many distractions. However, the Dutch racer told media, including RacingNews365, that engineers and mechanics in the team are focusing on the car and the performance. On top of that, Verstappen said, “It’s not our business,” and why they should stop doing their job. Moreover, Max mentioned the way Horner operates within the team, which made the racer feel the boss was incredible. In fact, Verstappen said that there’s no question from the performance side of things.

Max Verstappen said it is their job to focus on their work no matter what. Moreover, they love this job. And as a team principal, Verstappen finds Horner among the best there is. Recently, Max told the reporters that he talks often with Christian Horner. And he felt that Horner’s commitment to the team is unquestionable.

Despite things happening in and out, Max feels Horner has been committed to the team completely. Moreover, the Dutchman mentioned that Horner is also here for the performance. But it is understandable for him to be “Probably a bit distracted.” However, Verstappen mentioned that no matter what, they like to focus on the performance. And that’s how they work.
