Recently, in an interview with The Guardian, Max Verstappen mentioned that he himself is a quite loyal person. Moreover, loyalty means a lot to him. He said that it is all he wants from the Red Bull Racing team. Moreover, the three-time Driver’s champion mentioned that so far it has been great with the team. He just wants to keep it that way for a long time. Adding to that, the Dutch racer also said that it would be great if he can finish his career at Red Bull. Moreover, he likes the idea of staying in one team all the years. Max Verstappen added, “That would be incredible.” Regarding all those stories and rumors that’s going on around the team and it’s internal turmoil, Max said, “I would rather not have them.”
The current reigning champion mentioned that they just need to deal with it and move on. Moreover, he is just focusing on the performance side of it because he says that it is what the team hired him to do. On top of that, the Dutch racer added that he is not a politician and he does not like to be political. Max Verstappen says he likes to distract himself from “Let’s say, the negative.” Only performance is what he is focusing on. That has been great for a long time now. Clearly, Red Bull is still the most dominant team in the grid.
Dutch Racer Focused On “My Job”
There has been so much talk going on regarding Mercedes trying to sign Max Verstappen. It started with Jos Verstappen meeting with Toto Wolff after publicly criticizing Christian Horner. Earlier this year, Jos said if Horner continues as team principal, the team will tear itself apart. Later, Max said that he is loyal to Helmut Marko, the senior advisor of RBR. Hence, if the old man leaves, Max will leave Red Bull. All these factors resulted in a chaotic atmosphere in the Milton Keynes outfit. But the chaos started with a female employee accusing Horner of “Inappropriate behavior.” Amidst all this chaos, Max Verstappen has managed to distract himself and concentrate just on the performance.
Even Helmut Marko praised the reigning champion for that. Max told The Guardian that F1 was never a job for him. Initially, it was a hobby. Then, the passion became a profession. Moreover, driving is something that the Dutch racer really loves. Hence, he still doesn’t look at it as a job. Moreover, Max Verstappen said that driving the car to its limit feels really nice. But there are those things around it that make it feel like a job. Those are not enjoyable for Max.
