LeBron James never ceases to amaze the NBA fans. He is playing in his 21st season in the league. But there is no sign of slowing down. He is still playing at the highest level. Despite facing some injury issues in the past couple of years, the King always managed to get back up on his feet and dominate the floor.
In terms of records, there can be very few players in the history of the game to achieve as much as King James. There is a pretty good reason for people calling him the King. Anyhow, lately, he is leading the LA Lakers in his 21st NBA season. Moreover, it seems he just keeps breaking and making records wherever he plays.
Against The Cavs On Sunday, LeBron James Extended Another Record
On Sunday, the Lakers beat the Cavaliers 121-115. LeBron James scored 22 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Moreover, he had a couple of steals as well as blocks that night. But the King just maintained his streak of scoring in double digits. It has been an incredible league record. NBA.com’s Brian Dulik revealed LBJ extended his historic streak to score double-digit scoring performance to 1,167. In the process, LeBron James has raised his points tally to an unbelievable 39,060 points in 21 seasons. It has been nothing short of a fairy tale. But the King is still going strong. However, the Lakers are relying too much on the 38-year-old.
Other members of the roster will need to step up as the season will progress. In the meantime, LeBron James told Dulik in Cleveland that stepping on the floor where he spent most of his career always feels fantastic. Most of all, the knowledge that he’s part of pretty much all the banners in the arena feels really cool. LeBron James played a major role in all six Cavaliers teams that won the Eastern Conference. He added that it is a special feeling to be a kid from Akron and play for the Cavaliers for 11 years.
LBJ And The Cavaliers – The Epic Homecoming
In his long and illustrious career, LeBron James has played for three different franchises – the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Miami Heat, as well as the Los Angeles Lakers. He had been the most successful with the Heat, as he won a couple of championships with the Florida outfit. But he has played for the shortest period with the Miami Heat. He has been playing for the Lakers much longer than he did for the Heat. Anyhow, in terms of the longest period with a team, LBJ played for the Cleveland Cavaliers in 11 seasons. He was part of most of the banners in Cleveland’s arena.
Moreover, his career began in the NBA after the Cavaliers drafted him in 2003. LeBron James never forgets to mention that he’s still that “Kid from Akron, Ohio.” Hence, emotionally and technically, the Cavaliers are still his home team. Whenever he plays in the home court of the Cavaliers, memories and emotions come rushing back. But nothing can be sweeter than the 2016 NBA Championship memory for King James. He was already a double-time champion with the Heat when he returned to the Cavaliers for his second stint. LeBron James returned to help Cleveland end their title drought.
