Juan Soto is one of the best players in modern-day baseball. Some say he will go down in history as one of the greats. Moreover, he is just 25 years old. But already, he has achieved so much in the game of baseball. The Dominican superstar has an impressive resume with a World Series with the Washington Nationals. He is also a three-time All-Star. Moreover, there are several experts and fans who call him the best hitter in baseball. He was the 2020 National League Batting champion. On top of that, Juan Soto has been a four-time recipient of the prestigious Silver Slugger Award.

With this impressive resume and age in his favor, it is quite natural that in free agency, Soto will be one of the biggest names available. Currently, Juan Soto is focusing on helping the New York Yankees end their World Series drought. If he is able to win the MVP award this year or win the “Big Dance,” he can ask for a bigger contract than Shohei Ohtani’s $700 million. But which teams have a chance to land the Dominican superstar?

The Dominican superstar says he just wants to play baseball, and that’s what his focus is on. About his contract talks, Juan Soto generally says that he will let his agent Scott Boras do the talking. However, on Friday, prior to the game against the San Diego Padres, the Dominican superstar said in a press conference that he is keeping his door open for anybody who wants to have contract talks. He told the New York and San Diego media that he and his agent are open to talk about “Deals and stuff.” Moreover, Juan Soto says, “I don’t have a problem with anybody trying to talk about deals and stuff.”

Does it mean teams like the Pittsburgh Pirates, Detroit Tigers, or even Miami Marlins have a chance to land him if they are willing to pay what he wants? Perhaps Scott Boras, the best-known baseball agent, has taught Soto well about contract talks. According to NJ Advance Media, Soto’s agent will demand no less than a contract worth $550 million. Moreover, Juan Soto said that he and his agent will see if they will make it to the next free agency. But that’s in the future. Right now, Soto says his goals are very clear as he is a Yankee. The goal is to win a championship. According to industry experts, Soto’s price will go up if he manages to win the AL MVP or help the Bronx Bombers make the “Big Dance.”

Manny Machado, the third baseman of the San Diego Padres, wants Soto to get as much as he wants in free agency. According to NJ Advance Media, Machado said, “At the end of the day, we are all players, and this is a business.” He said he would be rooting for his former teammate because he knows what kind of player he is.

Adding to that, Machado mentioned that it will be an interesting offseason for him. The Padres third baseman noted that he had been in that situation and knows exactly how it feels. Machado said, “Soto must be excited about it.”
