CHECKOUT: How Yankees Captain Aaron Judge Stunned The Blue Jays With A Game-Winning Hit?

Aaron Judge seemed to scare the New York Yankees fans with a very slow start to the 2024 season. It was concerning because the NY side’s captain suffered a severe injury last year and missed several games. Then, he also hurt his abs in the 2024 spring training. As a result, he missed quite a few games in the Grapefruit League as well. Clearly, the AL 2022 MVP is not in his fittest form. On top of that, All Rise has not been able to hit too many home runs as of yet. However, the Yankees managed to win as many as 13 games so far after playing 19 games.

Juan Soto has already made an impact on the team’s offense since Opening Day. Moreover, the Dominican superstar proved that he can be a useful defensive player as well. Besides Soto, Anthony Volpe and Oswaldo Cabrera have played crucial roles for the Bronx Bombers so far. On top of that, the catcher Jose Trevino has hit quite well so far. Hence, Aaron Judge’s slow start has not proved fatal for the New York Yankees. On the contrary, the Yankees captain helped his team from losing a series against the Toronto Blue Jays by a clean sweep.

For the first time in 2024, the Yankees lost a series, and it was the Toronto Blue Jays who gave them that blow. However, the Blue Jays were on the verge of winning the series by a clean sweep. But in the ninth inning of the third game, Giancarlo Stanton sparked the comeback of the NY side. The Yankees looked like they were sleepwalking to lose the series 3-0. But with the team down to final three outs, the long home run of the Designated Hitter jolted their bats back to life. Stanton and Juan Soto did major damage to level it up for the Yankees.

But then, Aaron Judge, on Wednesday, came back to his groove and won it 6-4 for his team with a two-run single. Finally, at Rogers Center, the NY side prevented a clean sweep. After the game on Wednesday, Aaron Judge mentioned that they look around the clubhouse every day and see that there are a lot of “Dawgs who just don’t quit,” as Alex Verdugo puts it. Moreover, the NY side’s captain mentioned, as per MLB.com, that it comes down to the confidence guys have in each other that will get the job done.

Aaron Judge, who had been hitless for most of the series against the Blue Jays, came in the ninth inning to give his team the first lead of that game. Otherwise, the Blue Jays enjoyed a healthy lead of 4-1 at one point on Wednesday. For the NY side, initially, Juan Soto did the major damage, hitting a solo home run and a run-scoring double.

Later, the Dominican slugger said that he and everybody have confidence in the team. They are playing 27 outs and grinding every day. Moreover, Juan Soto mentioned that everybody knows what kind of players there are on this team. The Dominican superstar mentioned he trusts every single one on this NY side.
