This overnight victory extended his race-winning record to 105. While Mercedes is ecstatic with Hamilton’s performance, rivals Ferrari are also enjoying his stint. 

Fred Vasseur discussed the benefits of Lewis Hamilton’s presence in the team, highlighting his extensive experience. Speaking to Sky Italia, Vasseur acknowledged that while many have claimed George Russell is faster since the beginning of the season, Hamilton has actually contributed more points to Mercedes. Regarding efficiency and as a point of reference, Vasseur believes Hamilton is invaluable to the team. Earlier, the Frenchman emphasized the importance of someone as influential as Hamilton. He said the seven-time world champion would help Ferrari to sign in big F1 faces. Thus, Vasseur is confident Hamilton’s Ferrari entry would be a massive positive for the squad.

When Guenther Steiner asked Lewis Hamilton about a potential title fight later in 2024, Hamilton responded with skepticism. He emphasized that the team needs to continue the strong performances it has had in the last few races. 

Further, the 39-year-old racer noted that if they can start weekends off better and maintain their current momentum, they can remain competitive. He acknowledged that McLaren was strong in the recent race, but their early lead gave them an edge. Hamilton concluded by stressing the importance of continuing to push forward.
