Draymond Green has had many ups and downs in his long and illustrious career. Since his NBA debut, he has played for only one club—the Golden State Warriors. That’s one trait he has in common with his two other close teammates. The Splash Brothers – Stephen Curry & Klay Thompson have played with the veteran forward all these years and formed the Dubs Dynasty. Without this tripod, it seems to be impossible that the Warriors would become a modern-day Dynasty. This trio won four NBA Championships with the GSW. They have also been to two more NBA Finals, where they lost against the Cleveland Cavaliers (2016) and the Toronto Raptors (2019).
Other than winning championships, Draymond Green has won some personal milestones as well, including Defensive Player of the Year in 2017. He has been such an integral part of the Dubs Dynasty, like the Splash Brothers. Other than the good and happy memories, Green has faced a lot of criticism for his bit too aggressive and physical game style. Due to his aggression, the veteran forward has often received suspensions. Lately, Green talked about one of his regrets that was a direct result of his anger.
Draymond Green Regrets Not Celebrating The Contract Extension Of Jordan Poole
The former Defensive Player of the Year has a handful of moments in his NBA career that he considers to be regrets. But he is someone who does not shy away from talking about it. Lately, on his podcast, The Draymond Green Show, he was talking to his longtime teammate Kevon Looney about what happened between him and Jordan Poole. During a practice session in the 2022-2023 season, Dray punched the young Warriors guard in a heated exchange. Later, the Dubs temporarily suspended Green and it fractured the relationship between Poole and him. Moreover, the veteran forward believes this incident had a negative impact on the team for the 2022-2023 season.

Lately, in the conversation with his Warriors teammate, Draymond Green mentioned that Poole receiving a four-year contract extension worth $140 million was “The best thing for me.” It is because he took JP under his wing when the young guard joined the club. But after that punching incident, he knew that he “F***ed it off.” As a result, he could not celebrate the contract extension with JP. Finally, Green says it hurts because he really messed it up. But Draymond Green believes it is better to take it on the chin rather than hiding that something like that happened. Now, Jordan Poole plays for the Washington Wizards, but Green still regrets not celebrating JP’s contract extension two years back.
Veteran Forward Doesn’t Like To Hide From His Wins Or His “F*** Ups”
Green has always been someone who likes to carry his heart on his sleeves. That’s why he tells Kevon Looney that he is open about his mistakes and he is open about his wins. Draymond Green says that he tells his teammates, “Let’s not win another f***ing title.” After all, if something like that happens, he won’t stop talking about it.
He added that he is the same with his losses and “F***ed up moments.” Even after a couple of years, when the Golden State Warriors traded JP to the Washington Wizards last offseason, Green still regrets messing up his relationship with the young guard.
