Red Bull has faced significant challenges this season. Despite a promising start to the championship, the team is now in a critical position with just six races remaining. Much of their struggles stem from technical issues and internal conflicts, creating a season filled with uncertainty and inconsistency.

As McLaren continues to close in, Red Bull is still chasing the dominance they once held. However, after a series of underwhelming performances, the team finally secured a morale-boosting second-place finish at the Singapore GP. This result was a bright spot in an otherwise difficult season for the Milton Keynes squad. Building on that momentum, Max Verstappen recently claimed third spot in the Austin GP after clinching the sprint victory, signaling their intent to fight back. Meanwhile, Christian Horner has linked this performance with the latest upgrade, as he sounds optimistic about a Red Bull comeback.

Before the Formula 1 weekend in Austin, Texas, Red Bull struggled with pace at the Singapore Grand Prix, where McLaren’s Lando Norris secured a decisive win by nearly 21 seconds. This victory tightened the gap between Norris and Max Verstappen in the drivers’ championship and extended McLaren’s lead in the constructors’ standings over the Milton Keynes-based team.

However, after a month-long autumn break, Red Bull arrived at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) with new updates for the RB20, which seemed to transform the car’s performance. Verstappen, who had previously struggled to stay competitive, quickly returned to the front of the grid in Texas. He won the sprint race and was on track to claim pole position in qualifying, but a crash by George Russell forced him to settle for P2. In the race, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz took an impressive 1-2 finish, while the battle for third intensified behind Norris. After a controversial time penalty for Norris, who was penalized for allegedly overtaking Verstappen off-track, the Dutchman ultimately secured third place.

Despite the dramatic end to the race, Red Bull’s team principal, Christian Horner, expressed relief that Verstappen once again seemed more comfortable with the RB20. He emphasized that the team had worked hard to improve performance, and it showed in their strong turnaround from the struggles in Singapore. Horner was also pleased with the weekend’s points haul, as Verstappen managed to extend his championship lead over Norris by five points—a result that seemed unlikely just weeks prior in Singapore.

Christian Horner Heaps Praises On Liam Lawson After His VCARB Debut

Christian Horner commended Liam Lawson for his outstanding performance during the race at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA). Horner highlighted Lawson’s impressive display, particularly his fierce battle with Fernando Alonso, one of the sport’s most experienced drivers. For Lawson, competing aggressively against Alonso in his first race back on the grid was a strong indicator of his abilities.

Starting from 19th position, Lawson showcased both speed and bravery, making his way up to finish ninth. Horner admired the young driver’s determination and courage throughout the race, calling it an exceptional comeback performance.
