Aaron Judge did not have a great start as the New York Yankees captain. The team even failed to make the postseason this year. Although personally, Judge had a pretty good last week as he won the Roberto Clemente Award. He traveled to Phoneix for the presentation of MLB’s top honor for community service. Judge must be really proud of his accomplishment as he often regarded Clemente as a trendsetter for baseball players.

However, as the Yankees captain, he would be happier if he went to the World Series with his team playing for the championship. He mentioned that the franchise has not reached the “Big Dance” in a really long time. Moreover, he would like to lead the Yankees to a World Series in the future. For that, the franchise needs to make big changes from now on. Aaron Judge revealed that he spoke with the owner, Hal Steinbrenner, regarding the changes. Later, he told the reporters that the Yankees plan to bring changes in their philosophies, coaches, and the player’s side as well. Clearly, Aaron Judge has high hopes that the Yankees can see themselves in the “Promised Land” in the near future.

Aaron Judge recently mentioned that as soon as the World Series was over, they would start making big moves. It was challenging while the World Series was going on. Moreover, the Yankees’ 16th captain mentioned that they have a lot of time at present. But the organization is already busy working and will send him all the necessary updates soon. Moreover, the Yankees owner had said that they would make some very subtle changes, and then there would be some more subtle than the others.

In the present scenario, it does not look possible for the Yankees to sign Shohei Ohtani. However, they can still be hopeful about signing Juan Soto from the San Diego Padres. If the Yankees don’t get Soto, they can try to sign in Cody Bellinger, another good lefty hitter cum outfielder. Moreover, Aaron Boone will return again as Yankees manager for his seventh season.

It has been a tremendous shame for the franchise. They have not made it to the World Series for a long time. The last time they made it was back in 2009, when they actually won it for the last time. However, in the last few years, they barely managed to make the postseason. But they could never go very far. And this season, they had the worst time in the last thirty years. Moreover, the Yankees batting average was the second-worst in the league in 2023.

Hence, they have a lot of work to do this offseason. Already, they made a bold call releasing six players from the roster, freeing up some space for some elite hitters and outfielders. The Yankees will also need quality pitchers to strengthen the lineup. Moreover, they had a better defense than their offense last season. Anyhow, Aaron Judge hopes the team can turn things around in the next season.
