The Sport Rush

Since his RBR debut two decades ago, the Aero-Wiazard has been crucial in transitioning the Austrian outfit into a champion. Moreover, he has participated in Thirteen world title triumphs with different setups.

The Red Bull conundrum has provided an opportunity for the other teams. Since the internal mayhem began in Milton Keynes, some experienced personnel have left the setup. One of the biggest names was Adrian Newey. The veteran car designer ended his RBR stint after 20 glorious years. He was the main man behind Sebastian Vettel’s and Max Verstappen’s consecutive world title streaks. Now, the aero expert has plenty of options like Ferrari, Mercedes, and Aston Martin. Earlier, a report claimed Ferrari had signed the Briton, and the official announcement would soon be made. However, the Maranello squad had not yet made any revelation about the same.

Thus, Aston Martin’s owner, Lawrence Stroll, has offered a whopping $126M to Newey. The Silverstone boss is adamant about converting his team into an F1 elite. Thus, no one is better than Newey to create a new setup from scratch. Moreover, according to Sky Sports, the veteran engineer recently visited Aston Martin’s Silverstone-based factory. Although it was a behind-the-closed-door event, the surprise visit is being associated with his future move. Hence, as per Motorsport reports, Stroll offered a massive amount to Newey. While the British engineer is in the latter half of his career, his response would be interesting. The Briton would be more interested in providing consultation services rather than establishing a squad from scratch.

Is Mercedes Still In Contention To Sign Newey?

While everyone voted Mercedes out of contention, they are still in the hunt. According to the reports, Toto Wolff is secretly in talks with Adrian Newey to seal his services. The veteran engineer could be the game changer for any team, especially with a regulatory revamp in line.

Thus, every F1 team is trying its best to cash in on the aero expert to establish its reign in the new era. However, the final call will be from the man himself, as money won’t be the only factor for Newey.
