Lewis Hamilton Believees Arsenal Can End The City’s Domination Next Season
The love story between Lewis Hamilton and Arsenal began when he was five years old. Initially, the seven-time champion used to conform to his neighborhood friends because he was the only kid of color. He used to support whatever team those friends used to as he wanted to stay part of that group. But then his sister Sam started punching him in the arms to make him support Arsenal. Thus, the Mercedes superstar has always been a fan of the Gunners since he turned 5. When the Gunners were leading the table in April with 80 points after 35 matches, the Gooner in Mercedes uniform was on top of the world. He was so happy.
Moreover, Lewis Hamilton said, “I’ve waited to see the Gunners on top for my whole life.” However, in the end, it turned out that it just was not meant to be for the Gunners and Gooners. Even after 20 long years, the title drought continues for the Gunners. Nevertheless, the Gunners won their final game in the league against Everton. But Pep Guardiola’s side won 3-1 against West Ham. That helped Man City win their fourth title in a row. Later, Lewis Hamilton wrote a heartfelt message saying, “I’m proud of this team, next season, it’ll be ours.”
Mercedes Superstar Was Close To Acquire Chelsea Once
Recently, the 2024 Emilia Romagna GP got over. Mercedes had yet another disappointing outing. Both Lewis Hamilton and George Russell failed to finish in the top 5. In 2022, after the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton said he and his good friend, tennis legend Serena Williams, were planning to acquire a few shares of Chelsea Football Club. As per Essentially Sports, Hamilton said, “Ultimately, I’m a sports fan.”
When the opportunity presented itself, Hamilton thought of involving himself in the consortium when the English Businessman Sir Martin Broughton made his bid to buy Chelsea. However, Broughton lost the bidding war. It was perhaps meant to be for Hamilton as he could never grow that same level of love for another EPL team, like he has for Arsenal.
