The New York Yankees have hit a snag out of nowhere in the midst of a dominant run. With 45-19 record, the Bronx Bombers have been the team to beat this year. However, injury concerns have began to creep in at the worst possible timeline in the big apple.

New York Yankees removed generational star Juan Soto from the series finale against the Twins, citing left forearm soreness. However, on the other hand, the Triple-A affiliated team also made a strange move with rehabbing outfielder Jasson Dominguez. Now, speculation suggests that the two big and sudden moves could be connected to one another.

The New York Yankees faced a shocker on Thursday’s series finale against the Twins when Juan Soto was pulled out from the game during the rain break after he suffered from discomfort in his left forearm. It was completely out of the blue, as Soto has been hitting and fielding just fine all season long. While the extent of the injury is yet to be known, Soto is expected to head for imaging scans on Friday. That being said, while Soto’s drama unfolded in the Bronx, back in Triple-A, a similar move further sparked wild speculations. Centre fielder Jasson Dominguez, who is rehabbing with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, was removed from the game after 7 innings. The speculations suggest that both moves were interlinked.

Apparently, fans believe Jasson Dominguez was removed from his rehab game to keep him on standby in case Juan Soto ends up on IL. However, Jason Zillo, Yankees PR manager, clarified that Dominguez’s early exit is a part of his rehab schedule. Apparently, Jasson has not played a single full game in the outfield since he was moved to Triple-A for his secondary rehab stage. Notably, the Yanks have planned to take the Martian’s rehab slow and now rush him into the majors just yet. He played as DH for two weeks before stepping into the outfield just last week. Hence, as it stands, Juan Soto and Jasson Dominguez’s early exits from their respective games are not interlinked. As far as Soto is concerned, the team has deemed his exit as a precautionary measure. But as per prima facia, the generational star is expected to miss some time in the near future.

In a major revelation following his early exit on Thursday, Juan Soto suggest that his forearm discomfort first appeared two weeks ago. While he couldn’t pin point a specific incident which could have triggered the strain, Soto confessed that the Yankees have made unsuccessful attempts to cure it.

However, Juan Soto claimed that left forearm discomfort never interfered his baseball related activities. And hence, he chose to grind through it. However, after the issues returned during the rain break on Thursday, the doctor present at the Yankee Stadium to treat him and the Yankees’ conditioning staff made a collective call to avert any further risk of aggravation.
