The New York Yankees haven’t had time to breathe and self-introspect as a terrible slide in June put their championship aspirations on a back burner. Despite captain Aaron Judge being his MVP form, the rest of the team has been inconsistent and terrible in metrics, to say the least.

Notably, the New York Yankees woes with offense is nothing new as the hitting lineup collapsed without Aaron Judge in 2023 season. This year as well, the over reliance on Judge has been duly exposed. Amid this, the captain’s personal hitting coach took a sharp dig at the franchise by calling out its problematic development approach.

Aaron Judge’s personal hitting coach, Richard Schenck, recently made headlines by criticizing the New York Yankees for what he called “terrible” offensive development. Schenck, who has been instrumental in refining Judge’s powerful swing, expressed his frustrations with a stern social media message, highlighting systemic issues within the organization’s approach to hitting. The hitting guru was replying to YES Network’s post on Judge’s home run and stated that the Yankees have lost 13 out of the past 18 games at a time when the captain is hitting like an MVP. That speaks a lot of volumes about the franchise’s terrible offensive player development, as none of the hitters have been able to match the basic hitting standards of MLB.

Richard Schenck’s comments come at a time when the New York Yankees’ offensive struggles have been glaring. Despite possessing a roster filled with potent hitters, the team has consistently underperformed at the plate, failing to capitalize on scoring opportunities and exhibiting a lack of situational hitting. But on the flip side, Aaron Judge has picked up his 2022 season form and is already halfway through his historic home run record. He is also close to getting a Triple Crown and possibly the AL-MVP if his team manages to make a deep postseason run, which seems like a difficult task now. The Yankees have slipped to second spot in AL-East with a 54-35 record. While it’s good enough to qualify for playoffs, the Bombers are also striving to regain division dominance. Baltimore Orioles are defending AL-East champions, and the Yanks are two games behind already.

Aaron Boone Accepts Players Struggling To Express Themselves On Plate

After a humiliating series sweep against the Cincinnati Reds, New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone revealed that a handful of hitters are struggling to express themselves in the batters’ box. While the skipper refused to pick names, he added that it’s important for the roster to weather the storm like a team.

Moreover, the skipper Aaron Boone believes that the Yankees still appear to be playing catch-up, which is not good at all. It’s time for them to lead the charge on all fronts and play without the fear of failure. Also, the franchise is still in a good spot on division standings, and hence, there is absolutely no need to press the panic button.
