The New York Yankees got kicked in the teeth this week as they got swept by the New York Mets for the second time this season. After dropping a 3-2 narrow loss, the Yanks got humiliated on Wednesday as the Mets won 12-3 to claim the two-game subway series.

That being said, the New York Yankees offense once again struggled, with Gleyber Torres and Juan Soto being the only run scorers for the night. Interestingly, the Yanks had penciled in a strange hitting lineup for the game, which raised a lot of questions about skipper Aaron Boone’s mindset amidst a losing stretch.

Aaron Boone, the New York Yankees’ manager, is facing intense scrutiny for his puzzling lineup decisions in the wake of the team’s 12-3 loss to the New York Mets. This latest defeat has only added to the Yankees’ woes in an already challenging season, and fans and analysts alike are questioning Boone’s strategic choices. For starters, the skipper penciled a struggling second baseman Gleyber Torres to leadoff. While the move worked as Torres scored a home run, the decision appears wild given how Torres last leadoff on April 9. On the other hand, J.D Davis was replaced as cleanup hitter by Austin Wells, who is also struggling to adjust to major leagues.

That being said, Aaron Boone argued that lineup decisions have been a challenge for him lately due to missing injured guys. “You’re trying to piece together that middle of the lineup a little bit, and then obviously, on different nights, you’re facing different pitching or different situations,” said Boone. However, the skipper is positive that he is close to finding the right combination. That being said, with Boone lacking depth on the roster, it’s imperative for the Yankees front office to provide him with the resources at the upcoming trade deadline. Interestingly, the skipper revealed that he is in touch with the front office to learn about their plans, potential fits, and how they want to approach the deadline. “Those conversations happen as they have a real grasp of the landscape of organizations and prospects,” Boone further added. However, with options on the market shrinking, any significant move appears unlikely momentarily.

Aaron Boone Unsure Of Giancarlo Stanton In Red Sox Series

Meanwhile, Giancarlo Stanton’s rehab entered the final phase earlier today as he took swings in a live session on Wednesday. Insiders believe that Stanton is likely to be reinstated without a minor league rehab assignment in the wake of the team’s urgent offensive needs. However, skipper Aaron Boone refused to commit to a timeline.

When asked if Giancarlo Stanton could feature in the upcoming series against the Boston Red Sox, Boone said he couldn’t commit for sure. While he is excited to see Stanton’s progress, rushing him in is not a wise choice. The skipper wants to allow the hitter time to be in the right physical space and on a roll before including him back in the lineup.
