The New York Yankees offense has been steady despite a losing streak as two notable hitters have been carrying the responsibility on their shoulders alone. Aaron Judge (1.157) and Juan Soto (1.035) are leading MLB in OPS and have around 60 home runs combined.

However, off lately, the oppositions have been trying to disable the threat of Aaron Judge with the infamous Barry Bonds treatment. Hence, to curb the notorious trend, New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone is expected to tweak the lineup and potentially flip the dynamic duo’s position for the crucial final stretch of the ongoing season.

Aaron Boone Chalks Up Revised Lineup For Aaron Judge-Juan Soto

New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone finds himself at a crucial juncture as his leading hitter, Aaron Judge, is being stripped of his opportunities to swing. Last week, the Blue Jays intentionally walked him thrice, followed by the LA Angels on Wednesday. Hence, with the notorious trend expected to peak in the coming days, the skipper was asked to reconsider the hitting lineup. Boone revealed in a press conference ahead of the Wednesday double header that the thought of flipping Aaron Judge and Juan Soto in the lineup had crossed his mind several times last week. However, in the near future, any changes are unlikely to be enforced as Boone is happy with the current state of the offence.

“Scoring runs, we’ve been doing a really good job of that, whether they’re putting on Judge or not,” Aaron Boone said. However, in case Aaron Judge continues to receive Barry Bonds treatment, a lineup overhaul cannot be ruled out. With Judge’s power potentially being used to drive in Soto, the players hitting behind them could see more favourable pitches as pitchers try to avoid the threat posed by the two sluggers back-to-back. This could lead to a more balanced and productive lineup overall. Aaron Boone has always been a manager willing to experiment with his lineup in pursuit of better results. While no final decision has been made, the prospect of flipping Aaron Judge and Juan Soto in the Yankees’ lineup is an intriguing one. If executed, it could lead to a more potent offence and help the Yankees as they aim to make a deep postseason run.

New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge is getting intentionally walked these days with a ridiculous increase in everyday instances. Toronto Blue Jays and LA Angels walked him thrice in two games, thus giving rise to criticism from the Yankee fans. However, Yankee rookie catcher Austin Wells had a different perspective on the matter altogether.

“If I was them, I’d be walking Judge too. I’m not taking it personally,” Austin Wells said. The catcher, who is batting clean-up behind Judge, revealed that the rival’s notorious strategy is not a cause of worry for him as he is open to different challenges. With Judge and Soto on the plate, Wells can only learn more about the pitches from the deck.
