Formula One is among the most thrilling and unpredictable sports. While the experts taunt the laws of physics, scenarios could dangle in a few moments. The 2024 season is leaning towards Red Bull. However, McLaren and now Mercedes have the momentum to pull things back. The two teams could take motivation from past instances where teams magically clinched the trophy after the mid-point. In 1964, Keke Rosberg won the championship with just one win in the entire season. The unfortunate instances led to his victory, as others either retired or had to quit. Later, in 1983, the top three reshuffled after the halfway mark due to a horrible show by Renault. As a result, Nelson Piquet emerged victorious despite trailing by a considerable margin.

The 2007 season is among the most iconic seasons, with a straight fight between Kimi Raikkonen (Ferrari) and Fernando Alonso (McLaren). After a tough battle, McLaren was found guilty of fuel irregularities, and thus, the victory was handed over to Kimi Raikkonen. In 2012, Sebastian Vettel aimed for his third consecutive title despite lagging halfway through. However, he went past the challenges of Alonso and Raikkonen to eventually lift the trophy.  However, the 2018 season didn’t bring a favorable outcome for Vettel. Despite trailing throughout the season, he was ultimately overtaken by Lewis Hamilton, who went on to win two consecutive titles.
