Big Blow! The Yankees Loose Carlos Correa To SF Giants In A Massive $350 Million, 13 Years Deal!

Carlos Correa

The New York Yankees and San Francisco Giants were the two most fierce competitors in the contest to sign Aaron Judge from free agency. But the Yankees marched ahead when they convinced Aaron Judge to sign a contract worth $360 Million for nine years with the team. It was a big blow for the Giants, as the team was genuinely interested in Aaron Judge. Looks like the SF giants have had their revenge on the Bombers. They managed to steal Carlos Correa away from the Yankees.

San Francisco Giants Sign Carlos Correa For 12 Years!

The San Francisco Giants\’ pursuit of Aaron Judge did not go as planned. The front office was determined to make a splash that would reach McCovey Cove and wasn\’t about to back down.

An ESPN source said that the San Francisco Giants and shortstop Carlos Correa had reached an agreement on a 13-year, $350 million contract. According to the source, the pact has a complete no-trade clause, but there are no opt-out provisions. Correa declined Houston\’s $160 million offer last year and now becomes the Giants\’ franchise player. In Minnesota, he earned $35.1 million in a single year, making him the infielder with the highest salary ever.

After one season with the Twins, Correa chose to opt-out of his three-year, $105.3 million deal. In 136 games, he hit.291/.366/.467 with 22 home runs and 64 RBI. Despite Correa\’s accomplishments on the field, the Twins faltered late and took third place in the American League Central. Correa signed a three-year contract with the Minnesota Twins last winter after beginning his career with the Houston Astros for the first seven years. After the first year, Correa quit, and this winter, he will once more be a free agent.

Aaron Judge, the current American League MVP, elected to sign a nine-year contract with the New York Yankees instead of signing with the Giants, who had previously chased him. In previous years, the team had made overtures to a number of high-profile free agents. Including Bryce Harper, who was set to complete the 2018 Major League Baseball season.

This contract has no opt-out clauses, unlike the three-year, $105 million deal Correa inked with the Minnesota Twins a year ago. A complete no-trade provision is also included, giving him total control over the course of his destiny. The final of the four elite free agent shortstops from the off-season, Dansby Swanson, is now available with the signing of Carlos Correa. Now, extended contracts have been accepted by Trea Turner, Xander Bogaerts, and Correa.

Whatever happens with Correa\’s glove, his bat will determine whether or not the big contract is a success. Additionally, it will influence Correa\’s chances of making the postseason in the near future. And for the first time in his career, of missing it in back-to-back campaigns.
