“Better For My Legacy,” Lewis Hamilton Justifies Decision To Head With Mercedes Instead Of Red Bull!

Sir Lewis Hamilton has been the most famous F1 driver in the last 15 years. He had the best rookie season in the history of F1 Motorsport. Then, he was able to win his maiden title in his sophomore season. It was the shortest time for any F1 driver to wait to win their first F1 title. Moreover, this record will be hard to break. On top of that, Max Verstappen can break many records with Red Bull. But he missed his chance to win his maiden title in his debut or sophomore season.

However, he didn’t drive for Red Bull’s main team initially. He drove initially for the sister team Torro Rosso (Now called Alpha Tauri). Nevertheless, Max Verstappen is dominating the grid at present. And he might go on to dominate for a pretty long time. However, fans wonder if Max can break the record of Hamilton. As things stand, it looks quite possible. But no matter what, Lewis Hamilton will have a great legacy to leave behind in the F1 Motorsport.

There were even rumors about Hamilton and Christian Horner expressing their desire to work together at Red Bull. However, Lewis Hamilton dismissed the idea to move to Red Bull as he wanted to win the coveted eighth title. He feels it is better for his legacy to stay with Mercedes and not move to the rival team with the only hope of winning his eighth. He would love it if he won the eighth with Mercedes. Recently, Hamilton told the media that he hopes Mercedes will come up with a challenger next season.

He hopes that car can overthrow Red Bull. He wants to help the German team get there. Moreover, Hamilton mentioned that every driver wants to feel how Max and Checo feel while driving the fastest car on the grid. But Lewis Hamilton believes it would be great for his legacy to build a car with his team and beat the most dominant F1 car of all time.

After winning his maiden title in his second year for McLaren, he had to wait a while for his second. From 2010 to 2013, Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel was the King of the grid. However, things changed when Hamilton joined Mercedes in 2013. Again, it was his second year, but this time with Mercedes when he won his second title in his career but first with Mercedes. From 2014 to 2021, the Silver Arrows ruled the stage of Formula One.

And Lewis Hamilton was the undeniable King of the sport. He won six titles with Mercedes, adding to his first title with McLaren. In the process, he equaled the great Michael Schumacher. Later, in 2021, Hamilton became the first F1 driver to win more than 100 Grand Prix. But he narrowly lost to Max Verstappen in the 2021 Driver’s World Championship. Since then, Mercedes really let the fans and Hamilton down because of their poor car. From 2022 to this year, Lewis Hamilton remained winless.
