Los Angeles Lakers\’ troubles this season do not seem to be ending anytime soon. Game after game, the team\’s struggle on the court has been evident. On Friday\’s game against the Kings\’, the Lakers tasted their tenth overall and fifth defeat in a row. Despite a strong performance from Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook, the Lakers lost to the Kings by 114-120.

Following the Los Angeles Lakers\’ most recent loss to the Sacramento Kings on Friday, Anthony Davis appeared to take a dig at Russell Westbrook, a colleague on the Lakers\’ roster. LeBron James was out injured, but the Lakers fought back and became 2-10 for the year. At the first half\’s conclusion, Westbrook had a particularly difficult stretch, which gave the Kings some more energy.

Russell Westbrook committed a take foul, and was penalized with a technical in the waning seconds of the second quarter. He had the ball turned over twice, which allowed the Kings to score. As Sacramento went on a 14-5 run to end the half, Westbrook\’s terrible series of mistakes helped them. So, looking frustrated after the game, Anthony Davis said, \”We have our moments where our IQ is very high. We have our moments where our IQ is very low.\”

At this point in the season, after 12 games, the Lakers are tied with the Rockets for the poorest record in the NBA and are located in the bottom half of the Western Conference. After the team\’s fifth defeat, Davis wasn\’t shy about discussing the mood in the locker room.

AD overcame his illness to be accessible. However, he had 24 points, 14 rebounds, three assists, and two blocks by the time the game was over. Apparently, for four quarters, his fault has been a lack of aggressiveness. But the Lakers\’ locker room is completely behind him.

Russell Westbrook seemingly contributed in 34 minutes during the defeat. He made four of his seven 3-point tries while scoring 21 points, dishing out 11 assists, and pulling down four rebounds. He was minus-13, though, and committed five turnovers. Because of that, Darvin Ham, the Lakers\’ coach, has been highly supportive of Westbrook and has kept that attitude despite the team\’s tenth defeat. In Darvin\’s opinion, there were certain poor decisions that he would typically make. However, he would put him in the same situation if he had to do it all over again.

The Lakers reorganized their roster throughout the winter. But a run of recent illnesses and injuries has made it difficult for LA to establish its most potent lineups. When they play the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday, the Lakers will have another opportunity to get things back on track.
