Aaron Judge

Aaron Judge is a New York hero. Right from his induction into the Yankees, Judge has proved to be one of the club’s finest. Just last season, the slugger broke the record for scoring most home runs in a single MLB season by hitting 62 homers in total. However, the Yanks failed to clinch the World Series title after getting knocked out by the Houston Astros in ALCS.

Nonetheless, the New York Yankees will hope for a better season in 2023. Aaron Judge, for that matter, has signed up to be a forever Yankee. The 30-year-old signed a nine-year contract worth $360 million in the ongoing off-season. On top of that, Judge earned the captaincy badge and will now lead the Yankees in the upcoming season. Meanwhile, before the spring training, Aaron appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s talk show and spoke his heart out.

Aaron Judge Discloses His Toughest Task As a Baseball Player

Ahead of the 2023 MLB season opening day, the rosters will report for spring training in a few days. Hence, the players are making the most of the limited free time before heading into the season. For instance, New York Yankees’ newly appointed captain, Aaron Judge, recently made an appearance on “The Tonight Show” hosted by decorated TV host Jimmy Fallon. The slugger opened up on a lot of topics and addressed them gracefully.

During the interview, Aaron Judge was asked about his go-to walkout song by Jimmy. The slugger quickly responded, stating “Hello” by Pop Smoke was his walkout song for the 2022 season. Aaron Judge later elaborated that choosing a perfect walkout song is by far the most challenging decision a Baseball player ever has to make. He spoke about himself, saying he makes a playlist of about 30-40 songs and conducts trails in the car while driving. Judge further added that this habit greatly annoys his wife, and she often gets mad at the slugger.

“Well, (choosing a walkout song) is by far the toughest decision a baseball player has to make in the offseason,” says Aaron Judge.

Aaron Judge spoke about many things on the talk show ahead of the 2023 MLB season. He revealed what prompted him to ditch the Giants at the last moment and stay back with the Yankees. The slugger said his teammate and dear friend, Anthony Rizzo, called and texted him on a daily basis, pleading with him to stay. Rizzo even tried to emotionally blackmail Aaron through their pet dogs, who happen to be best buddies.

However, along with Anthony Rizzo, the Yankees owner, Hal Steinbrenner, reportedly played a significant role in Judge’s extension contract. Hal directly talked with the slugger and promised him everything he needed. For starters, the slugger’s contract value was increased from $320 million to $360 million. At last, Aaron Judge gave in and signed a nine-year extension contract with the New York Yankees.
