Moreover, reports came in that Aaron wants to discontinue the Bombers due to the club’s inability to win the World Series title. The news sent shockwaves among the Yankees fan, who were not willing to let their star player leave. However, after a month-long drama, the slugger re-signed with the Yankees in a record-breaking massive deal.

While talking about free agency on the talk show, Aaron Judge admitted that he held meetings with a lot of big teams. Aaron Judge gave New York a mini heart attack when he held a meeting with San Francisco Giants during the off-season. Reportedly, the slugger nearly reached an agreement with the Giants. However, persistent efforts from his teammate, Anthony Rizzo, and last-minute intervention by the Yankees owner, saved the day for the Yankees. Eventually, the slugger decided to continue with the Yanks for nine more years at the cost of $360 million.

Furthermore, as a reward, the Yankees front office named Aaron Judge, the captain of the New York Yankees, for the 2023 MLB season. The 30-year-old will succeed Derek Jeter, who left the spot empty after his retirement in 2014. However, during an interview, Aaron stated he would not don a captaincy badge on his pinstripes as the team does not have such kind of a tradition. He wants others in the bullpen to feel equal by not giving a sense of superiority.
