The Yankees superstar, Aaron Judge who recently became the team’s captain is getting discussed everywhere in the world. With the historical 2022 season, Aaron made himself worth loving. When Derek Jeter, was retiring in 2014, leaving the captaincy position of the Yankees vacant, no one worthy was found until 8 years. But just after making 62 home runs Aaron Judge was chosen for the position.
Yankees manager Brian Cashman had to turn away from what he previously said, that Yankees do not need a captain because no one is as deserving as Jeter. However, Judge is and so he broke the duck of the Yankees’ captainless period. It is said that both Aaron Judge and Derek Jeter are very much similar in many aspects. They share a very good relationship.
Recently, when Aaron Judge was invited to The Tonight Show of Jimmy Fallon he spoke about the former New York Yankees captain. And as everyone knows, Fallon produces one of the most loved comedy shows, everything turns out hilarious. Jimmy asked Judge about how he became a captain from just a normal player.
“Now, You Will Take Me For Breakfast, Lunch, And Dinner,” Said Jeter To Aaron judge After Resigned From the Yankees
The most important question is, did you speak to Derek Jeter after becoming the Captain? What are the responsibilities the Yankees put on the captain’s shoulder? asked Fallon. And what Judge explained after is kind of too funny. He said, “I talked to Jeter a little during my free agency process.” As you must know, what happened during the Judge’s free agency period? Yankees were dealing with anxiety as the Giants were not leaving a single chance of meeting his demands. Eventually, just for the sake of the Yankees’ legacy, Aaron Judge resigned from his career-ending deal with the team.
With the San Deigo Padres’ $400 million, and Giants’ $360+ offers Judge was confused about where to go. And thus he went to Derek Jeter for advice. In the show, Aaron Judge revealed that he asked Jeter, “What was it like for him through the arbitration stuff and free agency?”
to which the Former Yankees captain responded, “Let’s go out for lunch or something. There we will talk about things”.
However, as you all know, Judge re-signed with the Yankees, and Jeter said to him, “Now, [it is not him]. But you [Judge] are going to take me out for breakfast, lunch, and dinner by the restaurant.” Meanwhile, in a tweet shared by the Talking Yanks, they figured out this very line of Aaron Judge that he said to Jimmy in the show as very hilarious.
