Aaron Judge has made a name for himself as one of the greats of modern times in baseball. Albeit, he hails from California, he has become an icon of the New York sports industry. Moreover, he is the biggest name representing the NY Yankees in modern times. There are things that he has done which has not been seen in a really long time. Previously, Roger Maris held the American League record for the most home runs in a single season. The legendary slugger had hit 61 home runs in 1961. Later, in 2022, Aaron Judge broke that record as he surpassed Maris to hit 62 homers.

Eventually, he became the highest-paid free agent in 2022. Moreover, he won the American League Most Valuable Player award that same year. Subsequently, the Yankees made him their 16th captain in franchise history, succeeding Derek Jeter. Since the epic 2022 season, Judge has become a well-known face of the MLB. This year, he seems to have another epic season with the Bronx Bombers, as he has been breaking more records.

So far in 2024, Aaron Judge has equalled the GOAT Babe Ruth in hitting the most home runs in the first innings of a single season. He is still behind Alex Rodriguez’s record of 2001. Moreover, talking about home runs, Judge always draws statistical comparisons with Barry Bonds and Babe “The GOAT” Ruth. Apparently, even the California native seems not to believe these comparisons are happening. Recently, the 2022 AL MVP told YES Network that these comparisons are really “Surreal” for him. He added that everybody knows these greats whenever they hear about them around the building, “All around this stadium.” Moreover, the Yankees captain mentioned that some of the stuff they did sometimes feel “Kind of make-believe.”

That’s the reason why Aaron Judge feels, “When someone mentions me with any of those guys in any kind of category sentence, its really an honor for me.” Then, the top contender for the 2024 AL MVP talked about his process that helps him in generally gain such unbelievable stats. Judge noted that he always checks out the pitchers, like, “What pitches is he feeling?” Adding to that, he said it might be too early in the game, but he likes to see how these pitchers go about their warm-up. Also, Judge mentioned, “I like to see how they go through the first two guys.” But then again, it might not make much difference as Aaron Judge hits everything really hard.

Blue Jays Manager Made The Yankees Captain Do Something That Rarely Happens

During the game between the Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday, Aaron Judge had to do something that even Barry Bonds didn’t have to do. The 2022 AL MVP had swatted two-run homers in the first inning in back to back games. John Schneider had seen enough of Judge on Saturday. Later, in the second inning, he intentionally walked the Yankees captain. In that situation, no one was running on base, and there were a couple of outs.

The last time a similar thing happened to a hitter was in August 1972. But that was for getting to the hurler on deck. Barry Bonds, who has the record for most homers in a single season in baseball, often received intentional walk calls but with bases loaded. However, it was not exactly what happened to Judge on Saturday.
