The upcoming 2025 Formula 1 season holds great promise, but the situation at Ferrari stands out as one of the most captivating storylines. Ferrari has a unique opportunity to claim its first Constructors’ Championship title in 16 years. The team’s drivers, Charles Leclerc, and Carlos Sainz, have worked hard to close the points gap to McLaren, leaving them just 24 points behind with two crucial races remaining: the Sprint weekend at the Qatar Grand Prix and the final race in Abu Dhabi.

Following the Las Vegas Grand Prix, Leclerc expressed dissatisfaction with Sainz, claiming that team orders were not followed during the race. This caused frustration for Leclerc, as he missed out on a chance to secure a spot on one of the most prestigious podiums of the season. He even believed he had the potential to catch his future teammate, Lewis Hamilton, in the race’s closing stages. These internal dynamics at Ferrari could be an intriguing subplot as the season draws close. This is teh reason Helmut Makro has questioned the harmony between Hamilton and Leclerc for the upcoming season.

Helmut Marko has expressed curiosity about the potential dynamics between Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc when they team up at Ferrari for the 2025 season. The seven-time world champion will significantly switch from Mercedes to Ferrari, where he will partner with the Monegasque driver.

Marko’s comments come after a busy week for Red Bull Racing, which celebrated Max Verstappen’s fourth consecutive world title at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. In the same race, Mercedes was impressed with a one-two finish, with George Russell taking the win and Hamilton finishing second after a strong recovery from 10th on the grid. Despite the impressive performance, Marko believes Mercedes needs to maintain consistency in order to remain competitive next season.

Marko pointed out that the conditions in Las Vegas were unique, with low temperatures playing a significant role in the race results. He remains cautious about Mercedes’ performance in the season’s final two races but hopes for at least one more victory. As Hamilton prepares for his final races with Mercedes, Marko is particularly interested in how his relationship with Leclerc will unfold at Ferrari, especially given the power dynamics within the team. He noted that Russell has already been more dominant than Hamilton this season and anticipates Ferrari will be stronger in 2025. However, Marko remains uncertain about how the two drivers will work together in what is sure to be a highly competitive environment.

Lewis Hamilton faces a challenge in his upcoming partnership with Charles Leclerc at Ferrari, particularly due to the latter’s impressive qualifying record. Leclerc, who is widely regarded as one of the fastest drivers in Formula 1, boasts an exceptional 26 pole position, a remarkable achievement considering he has often not had the fastest car on the grid. Many, including Martin Brundle, consider Leclerc the fastest driver in F1 right now, a statement backed by his strong qualifying performances.

However, Hamilton enters the 2025 season with a significant disadvantage in this area. Despite his long and successful career, Hamilton’s qualifying performances this season have not been up to his usual high standards. His teammate George Russell has outpaced him, with a record of 17-5 in Russell’s favor in qualifying sessions this year.
