With a 2-0 lead in the AL Championship Series, the New York Yankees appear in a comfortable position to advance to the World Series. However, with five games still left, the Yanks cannot relax even for a single minute. With Game 3 on the horizon, manager Aaron Boone will have his hands full.

New York Yankees both the wins in ALCS have been hard fought, with the element of dominance missing. Hence, before heading into Cleveland’s home turf, the Bronx Bombers will be required to contemplate their startling lineup with multiple chances likely as Aaron Boone aims for the final nail in the coffin.

Will Yankees’ Lineup Stay The Same For ALCS Game 3?

The New York Yankees hold a 2-0 lead over the Cleveland Guardians in the ALCS. But despite their advantage, the team’s offense has underperformed, particularly with runners in scoring position. Hence, manager Aaron Boone needs to address the lineup if the franchise is to maintain its momentum and avoid putting additional pressure on its pitching staff, which has been exceptional so far. One glaring issue is rookie catcher Austin Wells, who has been struggling mightily at the plate. Wells, who ended the regular season with a significant slump, has continued his poor form in the postseason, going just 2-for-24 with 10 strikeouts. While Wells has potential, and his defensive responsibilities as a catcher are critical, it’s clear that batting cleanup is too much pressure for him.

Meanwhile, Aaron Boone has been effective with his pitching decisions, but it’s time for him to apply that same tactical flexibility to the lineup. One solution would be moving Anthony Rizzo up in the order. Despite dealing with broken fingers late in the season, Rizzo has shown he can still contribute. He’s gone 3-for-7 with a double and a walk in the first two games of the ALCS, proving his ability to handle high-pressure situations. Given Rizzo’s recent production and Wells’ struggles, a lineup change is necessary. Overall, this adjustment keeps the productive hitters, Gleyber Torres, Juan Soto, Aaron Judge, and Giancarlo Stanton, in key spots while allowing Rizzo’s bat to provide more protection in the middle of the order. And most importantly, Wells would still play a vital role as a catcher but with significantly less pressure to deliver offensively.

Jazz Chisholm Confident Of Yanks Being Championship Material

Jazz Chisholm Jr of the New York Yankees has stirred up controversy once again, this time by confidently declaring his team already destined to win the World Series. Speaking to ESPN, Chisholm expressed unwavering belief in his team’s chances. “The Yanks are World Series champions. No other doubt in my mind,” he said.

Notably, his bold prediction comes as the New York Yankees hold a 2-0 lead over the Cleveland Guardians in the ALCS heading into Game 3. Chisholm’s confidence isn’t surprising, given his brash personality. Earlier in the playoffs, he drew the ire of Kansas City Royals fans when he said they “just got lucky” after a 4-2 win over the Yankees in the ALDS.
