In a shocking turn of events, Lewis Hamilton joined forces with Ferrari to end his quest for his eighth world title. However, this move ended his decade-long run with Mercedes. His sting with the Silver Arrows was filled with ups and downs (mostly ups). The world witnessed his transition from a young talent into an F1 icon. The Briton then went on to win six Driver’s Cups with the German Marque, registering himself in the F1 history books.

However, his much-anticipated move to the Maranello squad could be a challenge. The seven-time world champion, who will turn forty next year, will have to overcome several hurdles if he wants to lift the eighth trophy. However, his soon-to-be teammate, Charles Leclerc, does not doubt Hamilton’s abilities. During a recent media talk, the Moneqasue racer shared his thoughts about the legendary racer.

In 2025, Lewis Hamilton will don the iconic Red racing suit as he starts his multi-year deal with Ferrari. The seven-time world champion is all set to pair up with Charles Leclerc, a rising sensation. During an interaction with THE RACE, Leclerc poured accolades on the iconic British racer. The Monegasque racer expressed his excitement to witness Hamilton’s racing mastery, which has propelled him to F1 success. Further, Leclerc claimed he didn’t know any of Hamilton’s weaknesses, describing him as a consistently fast and exceptionally strong driver.

Then, he was asked to give advice to the seven-time world champion before he joins Ferrari. However, the 26-year-old racer replied humbly, asserting a driver of Hamilton’s caliber doesn’t need any advice. “Lewis is still incredibly fast. He is still Lewis Hamilton. So, I don’t think he needs any advice from me.” said Leclerc. Although Leclerc is currently the lead driver for Ferrari, the paradigm would shift in Hamilton’s favor once he joins the squad. The mutual respect will soon become fierce competition, as both are passionate about winning.

Moreover, Hamilton has already accomplished a lot in his career, whereas Leclerc is still looking for a mojo. Therefore, the young racer would try to establish himself before a world champion. Ultimately, the battle between the two skilled racers might end Ferrari’s world title drought.

Many F1 enthusiasts have tried to decode the real reason behind Lewis’s Ferrari move. While Hamilton described it as his childhood dream, people are still looking for alternative reasons. Mercedes’ chief Communication officer, Bradley Lord, shared his outlook on the situation. According to Bradley, Hamilton doesn’t want any regrets after his F1 career ends. He made this admission during a recent Fast and Curious podcast, saying, “He didn’t want to sit in his pipe and slippers in 30 years time and then go, ‘God, I wish I’d driven for Ferrari.”
