Christian Horner and RB20
First Sportz

The entropy within the Red Bull camp is consistently growing. As a result, the team is having a turbulent season, both on and off track. Moreover, the disorder has obscured Christian Horner’s leadership skills. Despite Horner receiving a clean chit from the internal investigation, the spectre of the controversy continues to haunt the team. To make matters worse, the RB20 has hit a blockade, as the technical crew is clueless about its issues.

The McLaren team is also on the waves of success, mounting excessive pressure on the defending champions. Thus, the signs are alarming for the Milton Keynes-based constructors, with the team on the verge of losing both the world titles. Amid all the internal declutter, the RBR chief has revealed the ‘trust issues’ concerning the team.

The McLaren team is within striking distance, as the points gap has been withered down to eight on the Constructors’ Cup table. Moreover, Lando Norris is accelerating to dethrone Max Verstappen with a point difference 62. This has aggravated the RBR woes, and the Austrian outfit appears vulnerable. The technical issues seem never-ending, and RB20 feels slow and off-balance. As a result, the Dutchman has claimed that if these issues aren’t fixed, the RBR squad might not win another race in the ongoing season. Similarly, the team boss has revealed major ‘trust issues’ within the camp, hindering its technical progress.

In a recent conversation with the media, Horner revealed that the issues are not new; they have been present since the early season. Albeit the team was winning races by a 20-second margin, it was mainly due to the rivals’ inability. However, as the competitors have found the panacea for the ground effect, RB20 is no longer the fastest prospect. Further, discussing the recent upgrade, the Briton claimed the setup disconnected the front and rear ends of the car. Although the update increased the load for extra downforce, it disrupted the car’s balance. Moreover, the wind tunnel doesn’t suggest an issue, but it is evident on track. The disparity has created ‘trust issues’ about the technical tools, leaving the team in oblivion. Consequently, the only choice for resurgence is data interpretation, and past experience. Thus, if the RBR aims for a solid comeback, it needs to overcome the hurdle of malfunctioning tools.

The Mercedes chief cannot explain Red Bull’s performance decline. During a media interaction after the Italian GP, Wolff claimed he had no insight into RBR’s developments. However, he can clearly contrast the current and past Red Bull teams. Moreover, he is not worried about the downturn, claiming it is part of F1. Therefore, the 52-year-old executive expects a solid comeback from the Austrian squad.
