Toto Wolff highlighted Hamilton’s essential characteristic, making him a champion driver. The Briton is set to leave the Silver Arrows as he joins hands with Ferrari. However, Wolff feels the Champion racer will leave an indelible mark on the Brackley-based squad. During a disappointing Italian GP, the 39-year-old racer focused on improving himself rather than blaming the team. Moreover, he dubbed the result ‘unacceptable’ and ridiculous, pointing out his qualifying woes.

Despite an underwhelming finish, Wolff sees these statements as a true reflection of Hamilton’s resilient mindset. The Austrian said this is a characteristic of a true champion, who introspects before blaming others. Further, the 52-year-old executive also emphasized that despite the seven world titles, the Briton is eager to improve. Hamilton analyzes his performance and figures out what he could have done better before discussing the team’s shortcomings. Further, this characteristic could benefit the Three-Pointed Star in the future. Therefore, Wolff feels Hamilton is the perfect ‘role model’ for young drivers like Kimi Antonelli or George Russell. It is one of the greatest gifts the Briton gave his team. Thus, the squad will continue to use it, especially when things go downhill.

The FIA recently announced that it is conducting thorough examinations of front wings at every Formula 1 event to ensure they conform to the sport’s 2024 Technical Regulations. These inspections include checks for surface conformity and deflection compliance, and all front wings currently meet the required standards.

Since the Belgian Grand Prix, the FIA has intensified its scrutiny by gathering additional data during the FP1 and FP2 sessions. This process involves using an FIA-mandated video camera to capture dynamic behaviors of the front wing that are not visible through the official FOM cameras. This initiative will continue until the Singapore Grand Prix, allowing the FIA to analyze performance across various track types—ranging from low to very high downforce circuits. The goal is to build a comprehensive database enabling the FIA to objectively assess and quantify the differences in dynamic patterns observed across the grid.
