Max Verstappen
Mid Day

Max Verstappen is currently the undisputed king of Formula One. The Dutch racer has achieved record-breaking feats at the young age of 26. Verstappen got a passion for racing from his father, Jos Verstappen. Jos is a former F1 driver who has appeared in over 100 races. However, the 52-year-old never won a race, which was the reason to groom Max as an unstoppable force.

As a result, Max’s training started at a very young age, as he excelled in go-karting. Further, during his early racing days, the Red Bull driver caught everyone’s attention with a phenomenal display of skills and passion. Today, the 26-year-old Dutchman is reigning the F1 circuit with three consecutive world titles under his belt. However, the RBR starlet is in no mood to drive in his late 30s. Therefore, he recently revealed his retirement plans ahead of his 200th race.

Max Verstappen, the three-time world champion, has clarified that he doesn’t plan to be in Formula 1 for another 200 races as he reaches this significant milestone. This weekend’s Dutch Grand Prix marks Verstappen’s 200th Grand Prix, placing him among only 24 drivers in history to achieve such a feat. At just 26 years old, Verstappen has already enjoyed a highly successful F1 career, boasting over 60 race wins and more than 100 podiums. However, the Dutch driver has long hinted that he may retire when his current contract expires in 2028. His decision stems from disagreements with the sport’s direction and a desire to explore other racing opportunities.

Reflecting on his F1 journey, Verstappen acknowledged that his career has passed halfway, emphasizing that although he has participated in many races, the time has flown by due to the intense racing schedule. Verstappen’s career highlights include becoming the youngest F1 race winner at just 18 years old during his debut with Red Bull at the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix. He also cherished winning his first world championship following a hard-fought season against Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton. These moments, he said, are the ones he will treasure most when he looks back on his career.
