Stephen curry & Drake

Stephen Curry is busy with his Team USA duties. And he is looking good to win an Olympic Gold this year. He has been waiting for this experience for a long time. Moreover, the Warriors talisman took a long time to appear in the Olympic games for the first time in his career. However, it is not his first stint with Team USA. He has won the FIBA World Cup twice back in 2010 and 2014. But at the age of 36, he made his Olympic debut. This might be his one and only appearance in the Summer Games.

Hence, the three-point King wants to make it count. Moreover, he is playing alongside his long-time rival turned friend LeBron James for Team USA. It will be exciting for the two greats to win a tournament together for the very first time. Meanwhile, the two NBA greats were part of a rap beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. Moreover, Steph made his choice regarding his favorite rapper clear.

In the latest feud between rappers Drake and Kendrick Lamar, the Golden State Warriors point guard took the side of the former. Stephen Curry told Joseph Bien-Kahn of GQ that he has been a big Drake guy for a long time. But he also mentioned that this kind of feud in the rap industry keeps happening. Nonetheless, Curry mentioned, “I’ll still rock with Drake for sure.” Recently, in the diss track of Kendrick Lamar, ‘Meet the Grahams,’ the rapper mentioned both Stephen Curry as well as LeBron James. Moreover, Lamar warned both the NBA greats to stay away from Drake. The Canadian rapper used the lines, “LeBron, Keep the family away, hey, Curry, keep the family away,” to accuse Drake of pedophilia. This song came out in May. Anyhow, Stephen Curry seems to support Drake and stand by his favorite rapper.

Previously, Kendrick Lamar referenced Stephen Curry in his songs like “0 to 100” or “The Catch Up.” Later, Lamar even described the three-point King as his “Brother.” However, Steph doesn’t seem to like the Canadian rapper that much. During a Team USA exhibition game in Abu Dhabi, Curry expressed his choice on the Lamar-Drake feud back in July. He complained about the overplaying of Lamar’s song, “Not Like Us.” There’s a video that shows Curry telling James, “Damn with that song. It’s not the only song in US.” In that song, Lamar referenced more NBA stars in his lyrics, like the six-time All-Star DeMar DeRozan.

So far, in the Paris Olympics, Team USA has dominated in the basketball tournament. And why wouldn’t they? They came to France with a modern-day Dream Team. Everybody wanted to see the James-Curry duo winning a tournament together. It might not happen in the NBA. But it sure can happen in the Summer Games. In history of Olympics basketball, Team USA has won 16 times of their 19 appearances.

Some say the 1992 team was the greatest, then others say, “the 2008 Redeem Team” was the best. Now, the 2024 team has a chance to make a mark in the Summer Games. But it won’t be a thing without the ring. Hence, they must win Gold to get themselves into contention of being the greatest team ever. But the Nikola Jokic-led Serbian team is a strong opponent, whom the Team USA will face in the semis.
