The Dutchman was the first to congratulate Hamilton after the two crossed the finish line. Hamilton Believes The British GP Triumph Wasn’t ‘Bittersweet’
When questioned about the present situation, Lewis Hamilton said he had no remorse about leaving Mercedes for a rival team. Reflecting on the season, he admitted that, at first, the team’s vehicle was not competitive enough to challenge Red Bull or achieve wins, making the possibility of departing bittersweet.
However, as the season went on, the team made major improvements to the W15, making it more comfortable and competitive. Hamilton’s combined work and achievement allowed him to retire on a high rather than a sad note.
