The Yanks were swept by the Cincinnati Reds at home, thus ruining the 4th of July celebrations. It marked the team’s 14th loss in the past 19-game stretch, including six series losses. However, with the franchise slipping away in the postseason race, the captain is unbothered as he believes in the team to make a strong comeback. Judge spoke to the media after the series loss to the Reds and said that the lineup is not clicking the way it did at the beginning of the season. However, it’s a long season, and it’s natural for any team to hit a slump like this.
Not only that, Aaron Judge argued that even in several championship stints, the Yankees witnessed a streak like this. However, it is important not to take things lightly, as how the team approaches the challenges will eventually define them. “You gotta get beat down a little bit to kinda see what you’re made of, and we’re going to find out real soon,” Judge said. Additionally, the captain backed his group and said that the roster has the tools to come out of it and perform as per expectations. It’s still time for the Bronx Bombers to rectify their mistakes and come out stronger in the July stretch. Marcus Stroman Regrets Giving Up Home Runs Vs Reds
Marcus Stroman spoiled his sixth start in a row by allowing a couple of solo home runs in the fourth inning of the series finale against the Reds held at the Yankee Stadium on Thursday. “I was one pitch away from keeping it to two runs. I didn’t do my job,” Stroman said.
With that, Marcus Stroman’s season ERA shot up from 2.73 to 3.58. Moreover, the three homers Stroman allowed were the ones he gave up the most this season, and they are also tied for his personal career high. The pitcher’s blowout resulted in an 8-4 loss for the Yankees as they suffered a sweep at home.
